Integrating graphics into architecture brings structures to life.

Building Prosthetics.

"Building Prosthetics" is a pioneering centre dedicated to crafting prosthetic limbs from demolition waste. 
The facility features research labs, fabrication workshops, and consultation rooms designed to support the entire process from patient care to material transformation. Demolition waste is stored in silo-like peaks integrated into the building’s form, where it can be accessed and analysed in the research labs. 
The structure is deliberately exposed externally and internally, embodying a sense of transparency and honesty in its architectural expression. Corten steel cladding covers the building while the timber waffle frame creates the structural stability of the organic form. Lastly, the architectural formation is inspired by Paralympic data, highlighting the opportunities within disabilities (see final slide).  Softwares : Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, and Photoshop

Initial sketch for Building Prosthetics!

Analysing the sections and plans from the form allowed me to dissect the enclosure, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the internal spaces it creates and equipping me to effectively address the challenges and seize the opportunities that arise from this configuration.

The start of my final year project at @themsarch, a hybrid making space. My focus was prosthetic making for the physically disabled.

How does the above model relate? It is a representation of pralympics medal data. Each piece holds the number of gold, silver, and bronze medals won in a given year. There are total 16 pieces for the 16 paralympics we've had. The orientation varied but the final piece contained the following: For year x the width of the piece was the number of bronze medals in year x, the height was the number of silver medals in year x and finnaly, the front face contained a graph of all the gold medals throughout the years.

The building will embrace the achievements of the physically disabled through its data driven form.

'The Escape' is an exhibition space on the embankment of Peel Park. The purpose of the design is to relax student coming from the nearby Salford University as well as the general public.
