“Repeater” by your favorite band Fictionist is out on streaming platforms now. Please put it on repeat so we can celebrate and go to Del Taco! Jokes aside, this record was a real trip to make. It’s full of songs that needed to be written, maybe selfishly I guess. These days what’s really the point of making and releasing music in a world saturated with noise? For us, it was just because we wanted to. Maybe you know, maybe you don’t know but Fictionist is a band of nerdy best friends that formed over our mutual love of music. Our best moments have always grown out of our shared love of the medium. It’s funny, early on I think we had ambition to tour the world 17 times over thinking it would be fame or money that would make all the difference. At times we even tried (and failed) to write music with that end in mind. This time around it’s been different. It’s just us and the music, settling the score on our own terms. It’s been a privilege to get together and do what we love. “Repeater” is our heaviest record to date. It harkens back to a time when we all got massively obsessed with music, when louder was better. Growing up in SLC Brandon and I probably went to hundreds of shows at Kilby Court and the raw heavy music of that era will always be a part of our DNA. I laughed a lot making it, I cried a lot making it. The record is really for us, for me, but you know it’s also for all of you. Music is weird like that. Anyway I just want to thank everyone involved. @n8pyfer for his early belief in us and his generous awesome attitude, @scottbwiley for working with us on the mixes and caring at a level that only he does. @caitlinconnollystudio for going back and forth with half a million art options and letting us settle on the one we loved. @tfreefilm for filming us out of the goodness of his heart. Most of all our spouses and kids. We moonlit this album, it was in and around life, work, and family. I personally want to thank my bandmates for being some of my best friends on the planet and going down this rabbit hole just for fun. Anyway…….check out! See you at the show. by @lodergram

✅Weezer pedalboard sorted

Always strange to take off almost everything time-based and replace it all with distortions and drives, but I’m here for it:)

Less than a week until the Weezer tribute show! @stateroompresents

There comes a time when we all must leave the basement and call an album done. Should you want to record one just like it here’s some gear we used. Looking forward to gaming algorithms, teasing everyone endlessly about the upcoming release. One thing unique about Fictionist is our collective distain for posting on social media, thus the radio silence. Good news is our love is strong and the album sounds real nice. May we all rock together soon. by @lodergram
