IT’S A KIND OF MAGIC // ✨✂️✨
.
.

Collactober has come to an end! Diving back into collage for a month was incredibly rewarding and brought me comfort during a difficult time. To create a connection between my various creative practices, I make animations of some of my favorite collages with @yesand_ai . I love starting with vintage paper materials—from the 50s and 60s in this case—and watching them come to life.

What a wonderful Collactober!

As we reach the final day of this year’s Collactober, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us on this creative journey! ♥️

It’s been such a joy to discover your creations throughout October, to see how each of you brought your own imagination, emotions, and personal interpretations to the prompts.

What I love most about this community is not only the incredible creativity, but also the kindness, encouragement, and support you share with one another. That’s what makes Collactober so special! 🙌

A very special thank you to my amazing co-host Rebekah @prism_voyager, who has been absolutely wonderful throughout this adventure! 🌻💛

And guess what? We’re not quite finished yet! 👀

Stay tuned! In just a few days, we’ll be sharing the details of our giveaway, with a lovely surprise waiting for you! 🎁✨

As for me, my final collage is coming soon!

Thank you all for making this October so inspiring, joyful, and full of beautiful connections.

Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃🖤

With love,
Native ✨

SYNTHESIS ♾️ 27/31 #collactober2026

This was probably the most challenging prompt for me so far! How do you translate such an abstract concept into a collage?

I eventually stopped overthinking it and let intuition take over. Inspired by the mathematical idea of sets, I played with shapes, fragments, and seemingly unrelated images, bringing them together into a new whole.

Perhaps that’s what collage is all about, after all: finding unexpected connections between things that weren’t meant to belong together.

SERAPIS 🧿 It all started with a photograph of ancient ruins submerged in the waters of Alexandria, bathed in a mysterious turquoise light.

While flipping through the same magazine, I came across this head of Serapis, a Greco-Egyptian deity closely connected to Osiris, the god of death and rebirth.

In Egyptian mythology, Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis, loses an eye during his battle with Seth. Once restored, it becomes the Eye of Horus, a symbol of healing, protection, and regeneration. According to some traditions, Horus offers the restored eye to his father, helping bring him back to life.

I chose to let that underwater light shine through Serapis’s left eye, traditionally associated with the lunar eye of Horus, while leaving the other in darkness.

A way of bringing these mythological figures together in a single gaze, and exploring the idea of a light that survives even in the deepest darkness.

Analog collage made from archaeological photographs and a page from an old world atlas.

Heart Map 🤍 Some maps don’t show borders or territories, but the invisible paths that connect us.

Since the beginning of this journey, I’ve had the joy of discovering your worlds, your unique perspectives, and the many different ways you interpret the same theme.

From a single word, so many worlds come to life. Each of you brings a little piece of your story, your imagination, and your own way of seeing the world.

And little by little, through all these differences, something beautiful begins to take shape. A collective map woven from encounters, emotions, and different perspectives.

Thank you for your incredible generosity, for everything you dare to share, and for all those little pieces of yourselves that make this shared journey so special.

Perhaps that’s what a heart map is all about: all these individual paths finding their way to one another...
