Last Thursday, our leadership team was thrilled to welcome Commissioner Ahmed Tigani, NYC Department of Buildings to Life of Hope for a tour of our site and to share our vision for a permanent Hub of Hope.

Grateful for his time, leadership, and commitment to seeing firsthand the impact this project will have on Central Brooklyn. Special thanks to our pro-bono counsel, Steven Polivy.

The termination of Haitian TPS will not break us. Our community is facing one of the most consequential humanitarian and family stability crises in the Haitian diaspora since the 1990s. We are urgently calling for partnership, compassion, and action.

This moment calls on We the People to strengthen and transform our community, and take greater ownership of our destiny. We will not allow fear or uncertainty to define us.

Don’t panic. And to those who are in a position to help, I respectfully ask you: lend someone a helping hand. A small act of support can make a meaningful difference for a family right now.

Help is on the way, my people. We will get through this together.

You read the headlines. You watch the news. Sometimes, it feels like the world is falling apart. It’s been a stormy summer, especially for our Haitian people across the diaspora. But this week reminded me: there are still so many good people in our community. Don’t let fear drive you. Don’t panic. Don’t lose hope.

Storms don’t last forever. We will rise. We will thrive because We The People, organizations like @loh.center , newspapers like HaitianTimes, and churches like PILGRIM WESLEYAN. #PathwaytoCitizenship #KeeptheFaith&SharetheHOPE. by @loh.center

šŸ“£ Konnen Dwa Ou.

Mèsi anpil, Porez Luxama, for sharing vital Know Your Rights information in Haitian Creole.

With TPS for Haiti recklessly revoked, it’s up to us, New Yorkers, to educate our communities on our rights, to protect our neighbors.

L’union fait la force.

Trump aims to make as many Black and Brown people as possible eligible for deportation, and to erase immigrant communities from the very country their work, culture, and sacrifice helped shape—see, ending TPS for Haitians and Syrians.

Our aim: Ensure New Yorkers know our rights. The Public Advocate speaks into a megaphone near a Caribbean grocery store by @loh.center
