New Yorkers may love fall foliage, apple cider donuts and spooky Halloween destinations, but how popular are pumpkin spice lattes in the Empire State?

New York ranks No. 23 among the 50 states for pumpkin spice latte searches, according to a consumer survey that analyzed Google search data to determine where the seasonal drink is most popular.

Health consumer blog Innerbody analyzed Google search data from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for the study.

A piece of Haverstraw village's revitalization took a ceremonial step forward as state and local dignitaries celebrated the launch of Village Square Apartments, the first major development to be built in the heart of downtown Haverstraw.

Secretary of State Walter Mosley joined Haverstraw village Mayor Mike Kohut and others Oct. 7, 2026, to laud what would be the market-rate apartment complex that will be sited at what's now just a hole in the ground. Kohut said he expected it to be ready for occupancy sometime in 2028.

The five-story, 61-unit complex, at 49 West Broad St., received $1.4 million of the village's $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative Program funding awarded by the Department of State in 2021. The developer is Avrohom Schwartz.

The Village Square will have one-bedroom to three-bedroom units, with 10% set aside as affordable housing. The development will also include a cafe on the first floor.
