Okay documentarians and doc-curious film folks, LOOK DIFFERENT is back and we want to see six seconds of what you’re working on.

Inspired by the much-missed and truly weird 2010s video sharing site VINE, we want you to give us 6 seconds of…anything you’ve created.

Why? So we can throw it on the big screen at Meddlesome theatre on Thursday October 8th. We’re calling it BRING BACK VINE (In person!)

It’s a new idea, an experiment, and a lightweight, fun, easy way for everyone in the room to get a tiny glimpse of what we are all up to and get some conversations (and collaborations?) going.

And yes, it’s okay to just come watch, but even more fun to share.

Come through! Details on the @lookdifferent.live link in bio!

✂️ Who said editing wasn’t a team sport?! Y’all, @southerndocfund & @lookdifferent.live through the wildest film networking party I’ve ever been at last night at @durhamfruit! It was SO. MUCH. FUN.
✨
👥 Building community and being out in film spaces is such an important part of the process of filmmaking, and to build community around such an innovative yet really well thought out inaugural event had electric energy. ⚡️
✨
💻 Both edits were so completely unique with a different flavor, style, and story, a reminder of the beauty of the often hidden art of the edit!
✨
I think we need to have one of these in LA, and Ima need to order a V4.final.actualfinal.forreal! 🤣

LOOK DIFFERENT is back in Durham with a remixed vengeance.
March 12 at 7:30pm, SDF’s own Chris Everett is going to take us on a sonic event-planning journey, breaking down the story of how he started arranging kung fu hip hop nights in a suburban NC movie theatre.
After that, LOOK DIFFERENT’s Saleem Reshamwala (👋) will demo some live VISUAL REMIX gear, and folks can jump in and get hands on with video clips and drum machines.
Come prepared to pick up some sound ideas, and think creatively about how we can present films at live events.
And if you’ve got a video clip you’d like to see up on the remix screen, drop a link below or email it to saleem@kidethnic.com and we’ll try and work it in!

The event is free, it’s got snacks, and it’s happening at Durham’s @thisismettlesome improv theatre.
