Our first press as a record label sold out completely by word of mouth and almost entirely locally, and I am so grateful for that. The goal has always been to get this music that never got its due into more hands and ears nearly half a century after it was created. LR-001 is headed to a second press with the goal of wider Domestic & International distribution. To celebrate we have 20 exclusive Promo copies available for sale for $22 plus $6 domestic shipping. DM to grab yours. And if you are interested in wholesale for this next run or want to give us a tip about where we should be, get in touch by DM or at loopyrecords808@gmail.com 📩 by @loopyrecords

Twelves appreciation post. I used to take the blue line down three times a week during covid to work on this little corner, and to (successfully) keep the insanity at bay. Back then in the stimulus check era the blue line was quite literally the hottest club in LA 😭😷 It was this place and community that started me more than dreaming, but seeing and talking about the possibility of me one day doing this exact reissue. I've been filled with immense gratitude to be able to contribute this release to the music world, and it has genuinely revolutionized my self identity during the biggest transitional year of my life. It all started here, and I'm always shocked when I hear that collectors haven't been in. Hector's an incredibly hard working & endlessly inspired human and I'm lucky to have crossed paths with him. Thank you to @waxaddictla for introducing us all those years ago. It's crazy to see how much the shop has bloomed from that last photo from the opening week. Quality has always been absolute top from the get. Anyway, get your ass over here and soak up some inspiration over a beer if anything. I dare you to leave empty handed though 🌝 taken in Twelves by @loopyrecords

Update: SOLD in 30 seconds. For the collectors out there. I have one original 7" copy of Get Up and Dance b/w Can't Help Myself for sale. There is a scratch at the start that causes a pop for the first 10 seconds (ends before the vocoder comes in, before the bass drops) & as is common with African records because of the climate, consistent "woosh" surface noise throughout due to how it was stored or pressed. It plays loud and clear otherwise. 👉 VG- DM if interested 👈 Like my other copy, it has a large hole cutout which was likely for a jukebox. It's fun to wonder where this would have been placed and who might have selected it since it didn't get airtime back then by @loopyrecords
