In Milan this week.
Presenting a series of rugs as part of ROOM, a project that moves from identity into object.
Exploring the interior as a space of refuge, each piece proposes a different way of inhabiting space. Here, expression becomes a form of intimacy and protection.

Yesterday in Eindhoven, speaking about design and where we come from in a conversation at Círculo Cervantes.
I’m seeing it more and more clearly:
design is not what it is, it’s what it does in the context it operates in.
That’s why I’m less interested in the object itself, and more in its ability to produce results in real situations. by @lopezlab.design

Today Motopp presents Drijfveren, the publication we created for their 5-year anniversary.

What began as a photography project became a compact narrative piece: each direct, honest portrait paired with a short quote from conversations with the participants: status holders and newcomers now working in partner companies, as well as company executives, civil-service intermediaries and the Motopp team.

A contained tone.
A clear structure.
A way of placing everyone involved on the same level of attention and dignity, across cultures and backgrounds.
A tool about what drives people, and what connects them.

Last weekend I spoke in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, about something that runs through almost all my work: how to represent people who are rarely represented in communication.

The discussion brought forward something simple and demanding at the same time: real stories rely on attention, precision and a sense of value. Not decoration, not simplification, not turning people into visual resources.

These principles guide how we approach projects, in social contexts and in the more business-oriented work at PitchLab. Creating space for reality, and letting people’s presence speak for itself. by @lopezlab.design

Restoring trust in public institutions.

Female Economy invited us to create the visual campaign for a rare and sensitive process: 60 police officers and 60 citizens working together around discrimination and exclusion within the force.
We wanted to create space for friction, discomfort and reflection and make that visible in the city.
Our task: to shape a public presence that
⚪ protects the vulnerability of the process
⚪ avoids stereotypes and simplification
⚪ shows accountability without losing legitimacy
. A clear, respectful campaign — now visible on street posters and peperbussen across Amsterdam — that invites the public to pause and look closer.

Winning presentations aren’t improvised.
For the recent Postcode Loterij pitch, wij.land asked us to shape their presentation: structure, narrative and design.

Not just a hotel. Not just a book. Uxua Utopia won First Prize at the Fedrigoni Top Award. Here’s why.

This book is a story told through materials, proximity, and process. Designed to mirror a place where craft, community, and nature are equal parts of the experience.

We worked with shredded edges, handwritten headlines, raw textures. And photography that captures not just objects and spaces, but the people and processes that shape them.

Most of the people in the book are UXUA’s team, their families, and their neighbors. The same community that built and continues to live this project.

UXUA UTOPIA wins 1st Prize at the Fedrigoni Top Award 2025 🥇📚
Last week in Paris, UXUA Utopia – A Very Gifted Guesthouse received the First Prize in the Publishing category at the 14th edition of the Fedrigoni Top Award during the EXPLORE – Creative Summit in Paris.
More than 900 entries from 32 countries were submitted to this year’s award — an incredible range of projects, perspectives and visions.
Designing this book meant translating 15 years of UXUA’s craft and soul into print: layered, tactile, and a bit unruly (in the best way). A deep dive into material storytelling and production gymnastics.
Big thanks to @we_are_fedrigoni and the jury (including Brazilian designer @gustavogreco), and to the whole crew who made it happen (specially my creative soulmates Li Edelkoort and Lili Tedde) — across time zones, cultures, and many rounds of PDF comments:

Proud South Craft is out in the world — a book that doesn’t just talk about craft, it feels it. Raw, rooted, and radically Southern.

I had the honor of co-curating and designing this beast alongside my brilliant friends Lidewij Edelkoort and Lili Tedde for Edelkoort South. A deep dive into craft as resistance, identity, and future.

Launched this week during Milan Design Week — first at Triennale Milano, then at the iconic Galleria Rossana Orlandi. Two legendary spaces now touched by Southern vision and energy.

Huge thanks to @ipsisimpresores and @lecturis for bringing every page to life with care and craft.
