Working with plexiglass and wood, I construct a fragmented structure where layers, cuts, and transparencies interrupt continuity.

The gaps between elements open an in-between space—where form shifts, dissolves, and becomes something else.

A beginning gesture toward a larger body of work.

This is one of the pieces now on view at “Espacio Temporal” at @embajadada in 🇵🇷. Show open until October 12th.

This piece was one of the works created as part of my time at @canserrat residency in May. I’m so happy to have had the time to attend such a wonderful place. I’d always be grateful for that time and all the wonderful people I met along the way.

I’m very happy to shared that I’ll be presenting one my work at the Diasporican Abstraction: Identities Beyond Representation @museomacpr along side so many incredible group of artists.

Thank you to curator Abdiel Segarra Ríos @abdielsegarra for bringing our practices together and for creating a space to consider Puerto Rican abstraction through its many experiences, languages, and perspectives.

It feels especially meaningful to share this moment and present my work in Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷

Made during my time at NYLAAT, this work brings together cut plexiglass and wood panels in a composition that moves between fragmentation and structure.

I’ve been thinking about these works as a way of pushing painting beyond its surface: breaking apart the image, allowing its fragments to occupy space, and exploring what can emerge when seemingly opposing materials and forms are placed in conversation.

One of the new works created at the NYLAAT Residency. Interested in the threshold between stability and instability, this piece considers movement not as a transition from one state to another, but as a condition in itself: a place where boundaries dissolve and new forms emerge.

A week ago the @curatorialprogram came to a close, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this inspiring cohort.

Over the past weeks, we’ve had the chance to engage with curators, artists, and cultural organizations across New York, gaining insight into a wide range of artistic and institutional practices. It’s was a incredible program of a wide variety of institutions organized by @natalia.viera 💜

To @carmenferreyra and @natalia.viera for creating such a unique opportunity.

Yesterday was the official last day of the residency @nylaat_org As I wrap up, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for these past weeks of experimentation, reflection, and conversation.

Beyond the work itself, I’m deeply thankful to the NYLAAT team for all the support and advice ; my fellow residents @huchuq @aleco.richards @polinapsivolobova @marilia_gurgel , and everyone who visited the studio and shared thoughtful conversations.

I’m excited to continue developing the ideas that began here. I’m incredibly happy with the experience and the people I met along the way. 💜 taken in Governors Island by @lor_studio
