From clever use of odd synths and imaginative modulation, the range of emotions expressed from their self released EP, singles and label releases is evident.

With releases spanning across Howitzer Records, Turbo Club and Gas GBLN, their music can be found circulating the underground west coast music scene, predominantly in Vancouver, BC.

Lord Loubbit and Walter Wack represent the bush rave energies from the Pacific NorthWest and channel that energy into unpredictable soundscapes. As music fans first and DJ/producer second, they consistently show why people shouldn’t “judge a book by its cover” through eclectic selections and an affinity for wild and weird sounds.

With releases across various local labels as well as self releases, the two endlessly search to discover things that fosters an environment on the dancefloor to allow individuals to connect to the sounds and emotions of the music. Subverting your rhythmic expectations, the sets are dynamic and fitting for any time of the day and night, from sunrise to sunset and everything in-between. Whether it’s in the middle of a smoky warehouse at 2am or dew-laden mornings in the forest, Lord Loubbit and Walter Wack channel the feelings of the environment and translate those sentiments into engaging moments for the willing and curious listeners.

Rave Buddy System style with an all night back to back where the DJs explore the more eccentric corners of their crates playing deep, peculiar and boundary crossing selections they would not otherwise play at more mainstream events. An ear for the subversive, Vancouver-based DJ Lucci is a dynamic selector, known for crafting moments of collective resonance across diverse dance floors. Her eclectic sound reflects her lived experience as a queer femme of Filipino-Italian heritage, drawing from a range of influences to weave stories that are entrancing, emotive, and always dance-oriented.

Bringing breakbeat, electro, and psytech sounds, VioletNoise is an experimental artist, livestreamer, and cofounder of the Buddy System party series. Their weekly mix sessions range from melodic to hardcore all over the electronic dance map.

Happy release day everyone!

“Stuck In Transmission” by @lordloubbit is officially out today on all major platforms and the usual Bandcamp / Soundcloud spaces!

Another special surprise is that the track will be name your price. Gas GBLN is here for the community and as part of our organization’s ethos, we want to give back to spaces that have supported us and other artists by donating all proceeds from this track to @bsidedotradio . This was a decision made from the GBLNs and we feel that giving back to these spaces helps maintain an environment that fosters artist growth and development, a much needed thing for the Vancouver music scene.

Back for another mix, Lord Loubbit (@lordloubbit) offers a different journey for the airwaves. This time, the mix features music that strays away from the usual club/rave vibe and leans into more of a trippy, dream-like state for stimulated listening. Meant to illustrate the confusion between various states of consciousness, the mix touches on feelings ranging from melancholy to pure ecstasy with a few surprises in-between. Born from the bush raves of the Pacific North West, @lordloubbit emerges from the shadows after a long hiatus following their first EP to offer a new single, “Stuck In Transmission”. Driving, peak-time energy intertwined with echoing vocal samples and synths ripping through the dancefloor with the low end, this track was made for late night warehouses or sound systems in the forests in mind.

“This song originally came about as a project for a friend’s label, where I wanted to capture the essence and emotions that I feel when I’m in the middle of a bush rave. Out in nature, far enough away from the cell towers to lose signal, with nothing but you and your friends on a natural dancefloor, and ready to lose yourself. The name itself is a play on those moments where you try to reconnect with your creature comforts (i.e. checking your socials at the rave) and you realize that you can’t. You’re stuck where you are and messages will not send, what are you going to do?”
