This is obviously a cause that is super personal to me and Mere doing this is so kind 💖

As many of you know a little over 2 years ago I was diagnosed with an early stage of breast cancer which was found through preventative screening because I have a brca2+ mutation. Having the brca2+ mutation mostly increases my risks for Breast and Ovarian cancer with a smaller increase of pancreatic cancer and melanoma.

Since it was early but aggressive I had basically been told that a bilateral mastectomy was my best option so at the big age of 30 a month after diagnosis, I had a mastectomy. It feels wild to think that was so long ago but there's still a lifetime to go of this stupid word hanging over my head.

Knowing my risk is what helped me catch this early and for that I am always super grateful. My journey was maybe different than what you'd expect when someone says they have cancer but it's still something that changed my life (for better? worse? I'm just glad to be here honestly.)

If you have a family history please I beg you to go for genetic testing to find out if you have a brca1/2 mutation. If you don't, check your boobies! Every month! I've added a few slides with some info from the National Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Cancer Association, my own experience and how to do a self breast exam.

it’s supposed to be under 90° every day this week, which means fall is officially here! 😂

i tend to associate the letters of enchantment duology with fall for some reason (i think i might just associate rebecca ross’s writing with fall tbh). so of course i had to pull out my inkridden tribute tote by @loreandwhimsy and use my mug referencing The Witch to commemorate the occasion 🙂‍↕️
