Moonlight and Magic ✨ a commission!

At the start of the year I had the pleasure of designing an enamel piece for the lovely @loreandwhimsy this features glittering flowers and vines creeping up a moonlit sword 🗡️

I really never work with pastel colours so it was nice to try something new - all the sword designs are always welcome haha!

P.s not an AD (I bought this piece myself, just wanted to show you all the design) 💕💕

🕯️the two were together, so the two were the same: the girl, the king… and the monster they became 🕯️

It’s time to journey back to Blunder, friends! Who’s ready to join me?

I’ve been itching for a One Dark Window reread for AGES, and in this spookiest of spooky seasons, now seems like the perfect time to immerse ourselves in a cursed forest full of tarot magic, possessed maidens, and nightmarish monsters 🤭 whether this will be your first time meeting Elspeth and co or a return visit, I’d love for any and all interested to comment below and join the buddy read!
🕯️
There’s no formal structure to the buddy read yet, but my tentative plan is to start One Dark Window this month and finish sometime in early November. And if we’re feeling extra ambitious, we’ll dive straight in to Two Twisted Crowns and see if we can crank that out before December 😈
🕯️
But I hold this series by @rmgillig so close to my heart and can’t wait to fall in love with it all over again 🥹😍 if you feel similarly, drop a 🐦‍⬛ below and let me know you’re in for the buddy read!

Today is the last day to order the Ix's Tits shirt from Lore & Whimsy with 50% of net proceeds going to the Young Survival Coalition 💖✨

This is obviously a cause that is super personal to me and Mere doing this is so kind 💖

As many of you know a little over 2 years ago I was diagnosed with an early stage of breast cancer which was found through preventative screening because I have a brca2+ mutation. Having the brca2+ mutation mostly increases my risks for Breast and Ovarian cancer with a smaller increase of pancreatic cancer and melanoma.

Since it was early but aggressive I had basically been told that a bilateral mastectomy was my best option so at the big age of 30 a month after diagnosis, I had a mastectomy. It feels wild to think that was so long ago but there's still a lifetime to go of this stupid word hanging over my head.

Knowing my risk is what helped me catch this early and for that I am always super grateful. My journey was maybe different than what you'd expect when someone says they have cancer but it's still something that changed my life (for better? worse? I'm just glad to be here honestly.)

If you have a family history please I beg you to go for genetic testing to find out if you have a brca1/2 mutation. If you don't, check your boobies! Every month! I've added a few slides with some info from the National Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Cancer Association, my own experience and how to do a self breast exam.

Love you all, fuck cancer forever (awareness is important every month) 💖🎗️🫶✨

You know this tale, Bartholomew.

Finally posting the flatlay of my raffle prizes from Forbidden Love this summer + some close ups of the goodies for the Stonewater Kingdom Series 🩵

Bartholomew is the squishiest reading friend, and the artwork of Sybil (art from @loreandwhimsy's shop | art by the talented @binanca.art) is so perfect! Plus I just love this preserved butterfly that was included 🦋

We are so thankful for these businesses that have shown their support for the 2nd Annual @burningpagesnc Romantasy Ball & Author Event!

As a small, woman-owned, family-run bookstore ourselves, we know how much it means to have the support of fellow small businesses. We’re especially thankful to these businesses for generously offering exclusive discount codes to our ticket holders!

Show them some love, check out their amazing goodies, and support those making our fantasy-filled night even more magical ✨

I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since I first opened 🥹

Every time I think about my shop and the growth and memories, I always think about the people that came into my life because of Pine and Ash. Every time I worry about sales or think about closing, I think of them.

I’m so incredibly thankful for everyone that has come into my life because of Pine and Ash - whether it was for a rep term, a collaborative project, or through mutual interests 🥹💕

Here’s to 8+ more years of Pine and Ash!!! 🕯️✨
ps. Swipe to see what new project is coming next 🤭🐉

Some of my first ever candles! 🕯️
Fun fact - I had never read Pride and Prejudice OR A Court of Thorns and Roses when I made these 😅 and I STILL have not been able to perfectly recreate the color drip on the Autumn Reading candles… someday I will, mark my words!

My lovely Library of Bookish Shopkeepers - you have all helped me in so many ways, especially in becoming more professional lol. So thankful for all of you 💕 here’s to more collaborations/feedback sessions/mutual support!

Omg the Pine and Ash retirement home… where do I even begin???? MULTIPLE YEARS of supporting me and helping me. I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without yall keeping me in line 🥹 thank you!!!

One thing I love about being a small business owner is being able to collaborate with friends. What first began as a love of Sevika’s five fingers turned into some of the most beautiful projects 💕 thank you both so much 🥹

A love of Arcane > a love of reality TV > chaos and insanity. That is how I believe the Love is Bland trio was created. I’m so thankful to have both of you in my life 🥹 my Pisces and Taurus babies 💕 LOVE YOU

MY FIRST PINE AND ASH FRIENDSHIPS. Yall have literally been here SINCE THE BEGINNING. Through the ups, the downs, the moves, the celebrations, the babies… the list goes on. I love you guys with my whole heart, so happy we’ve stuck together 🫂 now pls come visit me I’m lonely 💕

I’ll never forget the day I messaged Victoria - I had found her page and immediately fell in love with her ACOTAR art. I was so, so nervous to ask if she’d want to collaborate. Well, she said yes, and now it’s been 5+ years o

I need to get a little more creative with my Halloween themed posts 😂 my go-to is pumpkins for everything!

I’ve really been enjoying the vibes of these 3 books and I can’t wait to actually post about them, but for now enjoy my pretty spooky stack ✨

Plus they pair perfectly with @loreandwhimsy stickers! All three you see are from her shop! My favorite to look at right now is the sparkly iridescent Suspect lives in a fantasy world! You can use AIR10 to save some money in time for the holidays 🫶🏻💸

it’s supposed to be under 90° every day this week, which means fall is officially here! 😂

i tend to associate the letters of enchantment duology with fall for some reason (i think i might just associate rebecca ross’s writing with fall tbh). so of course i had to pull out my inkridden tribute tote by @loreandwhimsy and use my mug referencing The Witch to commemorate the occasion 🙂‍↕️

qotd: are there any writers that you associate a particular season with?

don’t forget to use code CARSEN10 at @loreandwhimsy to save some money on officially licensed merch 🩷
