My dear @giorgiucarina ❤️
I don’t have enough words to express how proud I am of you and of the beautiful young ballerina you have become! To be accepted, at only 16, into one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies—the Paris Opera Ballet—is an extraordinary achievement.
I wish you success in your career, and I hope you enjoy every step you dance on the magnificent stage of the Palais Garnier. 💝

Competitions have become an important part of the ballet world. Whenever a young dancer chooses to participate, they must accept that they will be evaluated by judges who—like all of us—have their own perspectives, preferences and artistic tastes.

We see this even among audiences and parents. People often connect more strongly with one dancer than another, and each person may have different reasons for doing so. That subjectivity is, to some extent, part of every artistic competition.

My students have participated in many competitions. In some instances they have won and sometimes they have not. Naturally, disappointment can be painful, especially after months of dedication and hard work. But learning that different people may value our work differently is also part of both an artistic career and life itself.

No competition is perfect, and constructive criticism should always be heard. At the same time, I believe it may be unfair to hold one competition responsible for every difficulty or disappointment a dancer later experiences. Families who feel that a particular competition is not right for them can choose from many other opportunities.

@yagp is more than a simple competition — it is also a community that creates direct connections between young dancers and leading ballet schools around the world. Over the years, it has helped many talented young people reach schools and opportunities they once dreamed about.

Not every participant will win, and not every participant will receive a scholarship. With hundreds of talented dancers taking part, that simply cannot happen. This does not diminish the ability, hard work or potential of those who were not selected.

Disappointment deserves empathy, and personal experiences deserve to be heard. But I also believe that criticism should be fair, balanced and placed in the wider context of what competitions can—and cannot—offer. by @lorelei_bari

Rest is not a pause from success; it is part of the journey. I’m returning refreshed, inspired and ready to bring new energy, creativity and passion to everything I do.
Goodbye, summer. The next chapter is waiting—and I’m ready for it. ✨
