I learned about @everyday from @daniwowo_ who uses The Mainstay as one of her everyday staples. With more than 20 years in the beauty industry, she’s introduced me to products and rituals I might never have explored on my own, including a few I never expected to work for me as a man.

The Mainstay is a body oil with notes of palo santo and lavender. Its scent feels elevated yet earthy, lingering throughout the day with a warm, grounded presence. Danita layers it with some of her other favorite scents, and somehow, everything blends beautifully.

A balanced, effortless essential.

James Baldwin, born in Harlem, raised by the city, and later at home in the world was a writer, thinker, and truth teller who used his voice to challenge injustice. As a Black, gay man, he refused to separate his identity from his art. His work, rooted in love and clarity, continues to show us what it means to live honestly and speak truth to power.

For Pride Month, I’m creating a series of four illustrations celebrating voices that have shifted culture not just for the LGBTQ+ community, but for all of us.

These are people who’ve taught us how to live boldly, create fearlessly, and lead with truth. Their legacies continue to remind us of the power in being fully yourself.

I was commissioned by the folks at @seventy______seven to create this flyer for an upcoming Linton Kwesi Johnson event at BAM (@bam_brooklyn). I was asked to recreate the LKJ in Dub album cover, and with help from Gabriele, who connected with the original designer, the legendary Dennis Morris @dennismcevoymorris we were able to track down the original font. I added some texture to give it that real vinyl feel. Loved collaborating on this one!
