Sometimes places hold more than just memories - they hold pieces of our hearts. My beloved school by the sea for so many years has been lost to the fire that swept through. Both my children walked those halls learning and laughing in the same halls I shared my passion for teaching.
Marquez Elementary was more than a school. It was a second home, a sanctuary filled with the joy of discovery, the warmth of friendships and the hope of countless futures being shaped. The sight of the ocean through the play yard was magical and a haven for me when I just need to breathe.
Now as I process this loss, my heart aches for the community we built, and the memories we shared. But even through the sadness I hold on to the love and strength this place gave us. The spirit of this beautiful school will live in the hearts of everyone it touched
