Been looking back on photos and videos from one of the happiest days. Happy anniversary Lynne & Mark McAleer
It was such a fabulous day and seeing my son in law, his dad, best man and groomsman in a kilt was very special (they’re not Scottish)

The world is a scary place right now and it can make you feel helpless but I saw this on another page and wanted to share it with you

I can’t make the
world be peaceful

I can’t stall tanks
from roaring down roads

I can’t prevent children
from having to hide in bunkers

I can’t convince the news to
stop turning war into a video game

I can’t silence the sound of bombs
tearing neighbourhoods apart

I can’t turn a guided missile
into a bouquet of flowers

I can’t make a warmonger
have an ounce of empathy

I can’t convince diplomats
to quit playing truth or dare

I can’t deflect a sniper’s bullet
from turning a wife into a widow

I can’t stave off a schoolyard being
reduced to ash and rubble

I can’t do any of that

the only thing I can do
is love the next person I encounter
without any conditions or strings

to love my neighbour
so fearlessly that
it starts a ripple
that stretches from
one horizon to the next

I can’t force peace
on the world

but I can become a force
of peace in the world

because

sometimes all it takes
is a single lit candle
in the darkness

to start a movement

oh, Spirit,

let me be a candle
of comfort in this world

let me burn with peace by @lorrainecmoir

Are you stuck in the same old negative mindset?

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

The way you think shapes the way you live because thoughts are not small or insignificant. They form your perspective, influence your emotions, and guide your decisions. When you have been in survival mode for a long time, your thinking begins to reflect it.

Survival thinking sounds like, “I have to figure this out on my own,” “Something will go wrong,” or “I am not safe unless I stay in control.” These thoughts may feel normal, but they are not aligned with God’s truth. They are often rooted in experiences, disappointments, or fear.

Romans 12:2 shows us that real transformation does not start with circumstances. It starts with the mind being renewed. That means change happens as your thinking begins to align with what God says, not just what you have experienced.

But renewal is not a one-time moment; it is a process. It takes repetition and consistency. You cannot remove a negative thought pattern without replacing it. If a lie has been repeated over time, truth must also be repeated until it becomes your new foundation.

For example, when the thought says, “I am on my own,” God’s Word says, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you’’ (Hebrews 13:5). When your mind says, “I am not enough,” God reminds you that “My grace is sufficient for you ” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

This is how new patterns of a renewed mind are built, one thought at a time and one truth at a time.

What negative thoughts do I repeat most often?
Where did these thoughts come from?
Are these thoughts aligned with God’s truth?
What new thoughts can I intentionally practice?

Declare this every day ‘My mind is being renewed daily’

Prayer:
Lord, renew my mind. Help me recognize thoughts that are not from You and replace them with Your truth. by @lorrainecmoir

I used to be that person who was always busy. Always rushing around because that’s what I thought I should be doing. I wore my busyness like a badge of honour.
I’ve learned over the years that life doesn’t have to be like this. To fully enjoy life I need to take some time out and learn to relax.
I still find that a bit difficult sometimes so instead of sitting in nature I walk. I love being surrounded by nature and marvelling at how stunning it is.
Take time to surround yourself with the beauty of nature and just relax and enjoy 🥰

🔥 Energy Bills 🔥

When I bought my house last June I looked around for the best deals for my utilities. My aim was to find the best prices but also the easiest way to keep track of everything and have a great service.

I didn’t want lots of different bills coming off my bank account on different days during the month. I also didn’t want mid contract increases, I wanted to know how much I’d be paying each month over a fixed contract.

I discovered Utility Warehouse and I’m so glad I did.

All my bills in one place, one payment fixed for 12 months! PLUS a cash back card for all the other stuff I’d be buying anyway (like my grocery shopping, clothes etc) making my bills even cheaper.
If you’d like cheaper utilities and peace of mind with your payments give me a shout and I’ll tell you how I did it by @lorrainecmoir

🌿 Making choices 🌿

I know it can be tempting to buy cheap stuff from Shein, Temu, Primark etc, but I just can’t do it. If something is that cheap, someone, somewhere, is paying the price with long hours, poor conditions or unfair wages so I can have another £3 top I don’t really need. It doesn’t sit right with me.

I’d much rather buy second-hand from a charity shop, supporting good causes while keeping clothes in circulation (plus it’s way more fun finding wee treasures for a few quid!).

Same with my personal care and haircare – I buy all of it from Arbonne, an ethical BCorp that bans ingredients tested on animals, artificial fillers, synthetic scents and all those hidden nasties that mess with your hormones and the planet. Yes, it costs more, but it’s quality, it lasts, and it’s good for me and the planet.

I’d rather buy less, buy better, and support charities or ethical businesses than keep feeding a system that hurts people and the earth. It’s not about being perfect, but about doing what we can with what we have. 🌍💚

Wee blurry pic of me in my teens just because I’m still her….ethical, caring, supportive by @lorrainecmoir

There’s something special about the Scots on the world stage.
At this World Cup, our fans haven’t just shown up — they’ve shone. The warmth, the humour, the welcome… and the incredible organisation behind the scenes. Bagpipes, drums, kilts, transported across the world. The school buses hired to get everyone to the matches. Charity fundraising, such generosity. Even arranging baseball trips and pulling together a pipe band to play in the stadium.

It’s community. It’s generosity. It’s joy.
It’s Scotland.

So proud of who we are.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 by @lorrainecmoir
