Text Tile Coprolite Fantasy; wool tapestry and medieval metal detector findings from Etsy archaeologist, 11x17 by @lorussostudio

I could wax poetic all day about my time at Penland learning natural dyeing and Ikat weaving from the incredible scholars and artists @wendyrweiss and @lesley.darling.fiber….I started tapestry weaving during the pandemic when life became one big zoom meeting and I needed something more dopamine-vibing to do with my hands than just doodling. After taking this two week long immersive class, I’m excited to expand my work into something more painterly, and a tad bit less excruciatingly slow while working within the logic of this ancient technology. 😉 😉 by @lorussostudio

Will Stim, Stimming. 17x22/ wool tapestry 🪡🪡🪡I’m thinking of this weaving as a kind of extension of the wool clocks I’ve been making—a kind of language clock recording future and present tense. It makes time spent material while also turning the process back on itself. For me it’s about self-regulation, self-referential systems, and compulsion. by @lorussostudio
