Thank you to @mrsmarioncarr for the inspiration behind this paper bag 🤍

Made by repurposing beautiful @penhaligons gift-wrap tissue paper ... far too lovely to throw away!

Proof that used papers can always be given a new purpose & always another story to tell ...

An end of summer Paper, Pause & Play...

As summer starts to draw to a close, I thought it would be lovely to celebrate some of the things we've created together so far. This time, you choose what you'd like to make!
I'll bring along a selection of materials from our previous sessions, so you can choose from:

🌸 Card & Bookmark
🕯️ Tea Light Holder
🌿 Vase
🪴 Planter
🪨 Pebble
🏷️ Bags & Tags

Choose a favourite, try something you missed, or simply see what takes your fancy on the night ... if you've been sitting on the sidelines, watching our sessions & wondering whether they're for you … come & give it a go...

Paper, Pause & Play is about the act of creating using our hands, switching our focus, chatting, experimenting & giving ourselves a little time away from everything else.
No experience needed. Nothing has to be perfect.

📍 The Fountain, Consett
📅 Tuesday 25th August
⏰ 6–8pm
£20pp — all materials included

Maybe this is the one to come and try? .. by @lost.lettersfound

Life isn’t just black & white

Neither is our mental health. We can feel grateful & still struggle.

Have a good day & find the next one difficult.

What people see is only part of the picture.

There’s room for all those feelings. Be gentle with yourself, make space for others & keep talking. by @lost.lettersfound

Great end to an amazing @designineverything_uk week @gatesheadcollege
Perfect timing for our Y2 students as they begin their specialist skills project, explore where their passions lie and consider the paths they could follow within the creative industries.
Opportunities like this help students connect their learning with the wider world, discover new possibilities & imagine where their own skills & ideas might lead.
I love encouraging them to stay curious, ask questions & find their own way. Sometimes an experience like this can spark an idea or give someone the confidence to take that next step towards their dreams.

I’ve loved every session of my Outlandish experience with @kyliedixonmbe Thank you so much for the opportunity!

I’ve met an amazing group of people whose skills are out of this world, and it’s been lovely to see how supportive everyone is of one another.

I can’t wait to see what magic everyone creates tonight with the Curious Cube!

Autumn has arrived… embrace it while it lasts. Notice the changing colours, the shapes of leaves and the little details that spark an idea.

This week we are starting a new theme with our learners, and it always begins with looking.

I often remind them that ideas do not appear from nowhere. They grow when we go out, notice things, and pay attention to the world around us.

Museums, galleries, parks, streets, old buildings, textures, colours, conversations... inspiration is everywhere when we take the time to really see.

Before we create, we notice.
Before we develop ideas, we gather.
Before we make, we look.

A simple reminder for the week ahead: keep your eyes open. New ideas often begin with the smallest details.

Excited to have been invited back to @uniquemagazines for North East of England Design Week. @designineverything_uk

Here’s a little snippet of some of the materials & resources I’ve been working on for the event.

I love preparing examples to take along as little starting points to spark ideas, show possibilities & help people feel confident to begin.

Really excited for another session of cutting, layering, playing & bringing ideas to life.
