We’re playing @festsacadiens at 5pm today, so here’s Les Frères Michot’s @smithsonianfolkways tour 40 years ago to bring it all together!

This year they are celebrating the festivals relationship with the Smithsonian institution 50 years ago 1976. That was the year. They moved the festival from Blackham Colosseum to Girard Park. Andre, that year I brought you to the festival in your little backpack to the lake at Gerrard Park the amphitheater that was there at the time by the lake behind the recreation center. I remember you would dig your little feet into my back when I was carrying you around and you’d push and stand up in your backpack so you could see around and survey the crowd. Louis, that is where you will be playing Sunday afternoon. I remember being there with andre and you andre play and run or crawl around on the grass on the hill you were one year old or almost and I remember seeing Beausoleil playing there actually it was Coteau, the band Coteau with Mike Doucet, Gary Newman, Dana, Breaux, Gary, Hernandez and others. We played at the Smithsonian according to this article, I think it was around 1988. So, there you have it! by @lostbayouramblers
