This postcard from ITAC8 reminds us of Dorothy Heathcote’s ‘vision of the possible’: the idea that art can take us beyond what we already know and help us experience what might be possible. A challenging idea that tells our ITAC8 story. Find the full ITAC8 recap on our website and via link in bio.

Dear Teaching Artists, artists, educators and friends, of all our stories, this recap is our last but one. Good things take time to grow, and so does the impact of a conference.

✅ So, one last invitation, share your feedback with us. All ITAC8 participants have received an email with a link to the survey, which will help us and future ITAC conferences keep learning and growing. You can also find the link in our bio.

Keen to share a quick takeaway from ITAC8? What would you add to Eric Booth's last slide? 💬 Share it in the comments below and let’s keep the conversation going 🙏

For OPENDOEK, international exchange is an important part of local theatre: connecting theatre makers, sharing knowledge and strengthening amateur and community theatre.

👐 That is why bringing the AITA/IATA network, among others, to Antwerp was an essential part of Louder Together. @aita_iata, the International Amateur Theatre Association, connects amateur and community theatre organisations worldwide, creating opportunities to exchange experiences, knowledge and artistic practices.

🗣 During Louder Together, the network came together in different ways: the AITA/IATA General Assembly brought members together to discuss the future of international amateur theatre, while the Directors’ Forum offered directors a space to meet and exchange experiences.

📲 Through @aitaiatayouth, young people from Finland, New Zealand, Ukraine, Germany, Italy and Lithuania joined the festival team, working alongside local young people on social media, welcoming international groups, and presenting and moderating performances.

It was a special honour to welcome representatives of the embassies of China, the Czech Republic, and New Zealand to our performances, underscoring the international ambitions of our work.

🔁 For us, this exchange works both ways. Local theatre makers gain new perspectives, methods, ideas and international connections, while international theatre makers discover the Belgian theatre landscape and build relationships here.

📍 Creating exchanges that continue beyond the event was an essential part of Louder Together, and those connections continue to grow from here.

Recently some of our AITA/IATA Youth members volunteered at the Louder Together Festival in Antwerp, Belgium. This was an incredible opportunity for the AITA/IATA Youth. We loved meeting new people, experiencing plays from different countries and reuniting with our group again! Louder together was a 10 day festival that gathers young performers from many different countries, their aim was to “demonstrate that arts programs are safe and brave spaces where young people can build confidence in their artistic abilities and feel empowered to express themselves creatively”. #youththeatre #loudertogether taken in Antwerpen, Belgium by @loudertogether2026

You might easily overlook it, but at the core of our creative story was something very important: the wonderful and healthy food that kept us going for 10 whole days.

With chef Seppe Nobels and his Instroom-team, more than 200 plates twice a day became much more than food: from freshly washed napkins and naturally flavoured water to tables decorated with local plants and vegetables – every detail spoke of care.

Instroom brought stories and cultures to the table: honest ingredients and dishes reflecting the backgrounds of its employees, the cultural richness of our participants, and even simple Belgian classics, all given the same refined touch.

And it travelled with us: to Saint-Anna Beach and DE SINGEL for the Teaching Artists, and back to Instroom for the networking dinner.

None of this would have been possible without our colleague Damien and our wonderful volunteers, working hand in hand with @instroom.restaurant to make every meal happen – calmly, kindly and with care.

A feast for the eyes, the body and our sense of togetherness.
To nourish, connect, and care. ❤️

📸 2 iconic photos. 1 event. 200+ young performers and just as many Teaching Artists, all together in Antwerp during the last 10 days of August. So many stories.

It’s been just one week since the end of Louder Together - and somehow, it already feels like we’ve collected a lifetime of memories.

This isn’t the end - quite the opposite. It’s the start of all conversations, connections, collaborations and friendships that came out of Louder Together. 💛

We took a full week to take it all in. Now, we’re ready to share.

📸 @lucadepuydt
Festival groups, partners and ITAC8 participants will receive a link to the online portfolio, with all the Louder Together pictures.

And on our website and social media - linkinbio, we’ll reveal one of the many stories behind Louder Together, day by day. Starting tomorrow, stay tuned 💡

What a few days in Antwerp! ❤️

We are returning home from #ITAC8 – @loudertogether2026 full of impressions, new ideas and, most importantly, encounters with people.

We have been moved, challenged, inspired and reminded once again of what can happen when artists, educators and cultural practitioners from across the world come together to share their practices, experiences and questions.

For Seanse, ITAC also carries a special history. Together with Eric Booth, Seanse initiated the very first International Teaching Artist Conference in Oslo in 2012, and ten years later we had the pleasure of bringing the community back to Oslo for ITAC6. To meet again in Antwerp for ITAC8 – seeing familiar faces, strengthening relationships built through previous conferences, and connecting with so many new people – has been very special.

And while these photos capture only a small part of three packed days (there were far too many parallel sessions to be everywhere!), they reflect some of our experience of ITAC8: the people, performances, conversations, energy and moments in between.

Thank you to everyone we met, listened to, talked with, laughed with and learned from – and to everyone who made ITAC8 and Louder Together happen.

We leave Antwerp grateful, inspired and very happy to be part of this international community. 🌍❤️

See you all for #ITAC9 in China!

Sitting in gridlock traffic in London,
but my mind keeps flashing back
to the ITAC Summit…… #ITAC8

At the closing artistic intervention,
we gathered everyone onto the stage,
sat in circles,
and shared what struck us most —
and what we were carrying home with us.

In that moment,
we weren‘t just colleagues —
we were kindred spirits,
tuned to the same frequency.
In that moment,
we truly saw and understood one another.
In that moment,
you could see something ignite
behind every pair of eyes.

Then came the goodbyes,
and we each went our separate ways.

But I truly believe
the warmth we gave one another there
will find its way back to us
on a night when we need it most—
softly, gently,
reminding us that
we can still stand firm. 🩵

Thank you ITAC8! 🌟

What an extraordinary few days of learning, creativity, connection, and exchange.

To everyone who joined us in Antwerp and online: thank you for bringing your ideas, experiences, questions, and artistic practices to ITAC8. It was inspiring to see Teaching Artists from around the world come together to explore how the arts can strengthen education, nurture care, foster dialogue, and contribute to societal change.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the @loudertogether2026 team, our partners, presenters, facilitators, volunteers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this gathering possible.

ITAC8 may have come to an end, but the conversations, connections, and collective energy continue. Let’s carry them into our communities and keep building this global movement together.

Thank you for being part of ITAC8. 🩵

We’ll see you in 2028 for ITAC9! ✨
