Three of my brooches have been acquired by The Danish Arts Foundation for The Jewellery Collection.
I’m very grateful for this recognition.

The Danish Arts Foundation is Denmark’s national institution for supporting and preserving artistic work.
The Jewellery Collection is their curated collection of contemporary jewellery, used in exhibitions, loans, and public presentation.

It means a great deal to me that these pieces will now become part of Denmark’s public cultural heritage.

A few words about my work:

My point of departure is always nature’s own traces – structures, movements, and formations found in everything from feathers to wood, flowers, and sea creatures. I work with structures and fragments drawn out of their original context to create an open space for new meaning.

I work best in the tension between already existing components – when there is something to hold onto rather than a blank canvas.

My work moves close to the almost overused imagery of nature; I am drawn to refining what has already been seen and to working in that fragile borderland between the recognizable and the refined – a place where even the slightest shift in the surface can make the poetry appear, and where it can just as easily slip away.

A beauty that doesn’t need to apologize – a quiet intensity in which the material itself is allowed to carry a renewed story.

My process is rooted in controlled intuition and refinement. ————————-

Wildly Refined for @karenblixenrungstedlund

Wildly Refined revolves around seven states of transformation. Using a tulip and a repeated process, I explore themes of resilience and decay, healing and poison, seduction and invasion, transitions where opposing forces exist side by side.

The process begins by dipping the flower in wax. The flower itself is then removed, leaving only its shell. What is soft and temporary is gradually transformed into a preserved surface and eventually into metal. In that movement, details collapse, structures distort, and unexpected forms emerge.

What interests me is not the flower itself, but what remains: the shell, the trace, the fragment.

I think of the work almost archaeologically. Working through larger quantities, I select, cast, and refine, allowing the discovered forms to reveal their own character.

When the familiar begins to lose its identity, it becomes something more open. Not quite flower anymore, but not entirely something else - somewhere between flower, fossil, body, and landscape.

OFF INSTAGRAM FOR A WHILE

Between renovating my home and studio, I’m going to wrap myself in my own little creative cocoon for a while.

3 — The Anatomy of Seduction
Rings, silver/gold

Each ring originatesr from the top of a dipped tulip.
As the forms open, inner structures emerge — folds, layers, cavities and openings that begin to resemble something almost bodily, floral, or nectar-like.

Something recognizable appears, drawing us closer — but what is it? Is it a flower?

The works explore seduction not as beauty itself, but as a play on beauty through hyper-expressive forms — something that draws us closer through the familiar.

The ring structures function almost scientifically — as holders, clamps, or instruments attempting to examine and stabilize something organic and unstable.

Wildly Refined is on view at @karenblixenrungstedlund until September 13.

If you’re nearby, do stop by and perhaps make an evening of it. The museum is open until 9 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, leaving plenty of time for the exhibition and an evening walk around the beautiful surroundings.

When History Comes to a Point / Når historien sættes på spidsen

Open, displaced silver forms based on the outline of the tip of Holger Danske’s sword at Kronborg Castle.

A 1:1 reconstruction of the sword tip was repeatedly dipped in wax. The thin shells were then displaced and assembled, allowing the hard form to gradually dissolve into open, almost soft forms.

Even a national hero can soften up a little.

The original invitation suggested an optional theme: King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. I took the liberty of finding inspiration a little closer to home: Holger Danske.
