Spent the day taking down Wildly Refined and sending my work off into the world, where it’ll begin a new life without me. It feels a little like cutting the umbilical cord. Or at least partly - but more on that later this year… Thank you to @karenblixenrungstedlund for having us, and for always making us feel welcome. It has been such a pleasure to become part of your world. And an immense thank you to my friend and exhibition partner, @louisebillgren. You’ve taught me so much through all of this, probably more than you realise. Thank you for holding my hand as we jumped into the deep end together. What a ride! For now, it’s time for new adventures. Onwards and upwards! 🥳

Especially with the wall behind Bubbly forms from @annikasemler Gorgeous glaze, also from @annikasemler Loved these lamps from @oleglerup, he explained the wonderful process behind them His contact: keramik@ibislev.dk So many beautiful things from @lisbethskyttec Basket full of flowers @lisbethskyttec Loved these sea horse mugs, just a bit small for my tea habits @lisbethskyttec Fun figurines from @jyttelysgaard This jewelry piece was absolutely stunning from @maiken_berle_fine_jewellery I have been following @claybybond for a long time. So fun to see her work in real life I have been following @louisebillgren for a couple of years and I love the organic forms Borrowed one of her images. Love her Wildly Refined series that is exhibited at Karen Blixen Museum @louisebillgren Second time I just stopped at @birgitte_munck_ceramics because of her beautiful glazes @birgitte_munck_ceramics Wood fired beauties from @gregoryhamiltonmillerceramics Loved these little prints from @printmaker_asp_dk Beautiful from Peter & Elisabeth Sylvest They are not on Instagram but you can find them at www.galleri-sylvest.dk These rhinos are so cute. All sorts of oddities are hiding in the old drying attic of author Karen Blixen’s home this summer. Some tell stories. Some keep secrets. The longer you look, the more there is to find. “Wildly Refined” at @karenblixenrungstedlund Photo by Dorte Krogh

@louisebillgren Wildly Refined at @karenblixenrungstedlund It begins with a simple gesture: I dip a tulip in wax and lift it out again. What remains is a shell – a trace, something unpredictable. A new form of nature takes shape. I work exclusively with the tulip, one of Karen Blixen’s favourite flowers. Through fractures and shifts, living matter is transformed into something else. In the process, I have thought of the work as almost archaeological: forms emerge like finds. I work through larger quantities, selecting, casting and refining, while keeping the supporting elements simple, allowing the discovered forms to stand out clearly. The exhibition revolves around seven themes – states in which life, dissolution and transformation unfold side by side. Transitions in which something is beginning to take shape. “It was that hour just before sunrise when the world seems absolutely colourless, when it gives indeed a sense of negation of colour. … And in this still world there is a tremendous promise.”— Karen Blixen, Seven Gothic Tales — The Healing Layers, brooch , 2026 One of 17 jewellery pieces created for Wildly Refined at Rungstedlund.
