Everyone has a story, even the coach.

I wanted to share my, ‘why’ it’s so much more than just coaching to me. All my work is super close to my heart and turning what was once not the easiest of experiences but goodness back into the world is something I continue to strive for. by @louslongevity

Fire link up with bodie today- a beast with the bells! happy to have found another KB warrior as they call us 😂 ( kinda like warrior💪🏾)

Went through 3 complexes combining grinds and ballistics, since I’ve been out for about 8 weeks this was the first workout that Ive pushed it and felt so so good to add some complexity and depth into my movement again. Proud of us for getting in sync our first sess together! 👌🏾 I forgot how nice it is to train with someone and was totally what I needed. Cheers bro!

Complex breakdown: ⬇️

COMPLEX 1 (DKB)
5 rounds
2-2-2-2
Dual row, dead clean, gunslinger, snatch

COMPLEX 2 (SKB)
5 rounds
5x5 [L&R]
High pull, swing, squat clean, rotational press

COMPLEX 3 (SKB)
 6 rounds
6 Lateral ballistic row
6 Tactical clean
6 reverse lunge
6 push press

During Ramadan my focus is not on fatigue but sustainability, so I put these small short wod’s together to keep my strength and explosive power and in hitting all muscle groups to maintain muscle and build if I can.

If you’re short on time these can be completed in 30-40 mins 👊🏾

Follow us for the next one 😉

VEGAN EDITION: EAT FROM THE EARTH 🌍 🤤

Yeah it’s okay to have some guidance of the nutritional and macronutrient breakdown of food but Food is simple - just eat from the earth.

I lasted 3 years coming out of being fully vegan in 2023 but 2 months ago I went back to being fully plant based and no I don’t consume the fake meats before you come at me with where do you get your protein , I try to eat food as closest to its natural state with no processing or additives and pay attention not just to carbs, fats, protein but the micronutrients that are in these foods because these are actually the biggest drivers in how your digestive system breaks down these foods and converts them to energy and function of systems in the body.

I’ve been vegetarian most of my life and as long as I can remember I never liked meat nor did countless health check ups tell me I was deficient in anything. I’m also very aware that this doesn’t work for some people and that’s fine, eat meat how you
So here’s a little spam of vegan foods I’ve made, have been made for me and feeling a lot better going back to what my body tells me it wants rather than focusing on hitting macros. Health is everything people, once we get concious about what’s actually in your foods counting calories is no longer the biggest priority.

But why mobility?

STRONG JOINTS, GOOD ARTICULAR HEALTH & CONTROL = GOOD PERFORMANCE + INJURY PREVENTION

WEAK JOINTS, POOR ARTICULAR HEALTH & LACK OF CONTROL = COMPROMISED PERFORMANCE + INCREASED INJURY RISK

I’ve trained since I was 6 yrs old, I’m 31 now that’s over 24 years of training and although yes I am young, im a person that wants to continue to support my body in ways that keep me moving as efficient as possible and in as many ways as possible and the same for my clients. That means everything demands attention, inputs, outputs, joints, tissues, tendons ALL of it.

You want to be in it for the long haul you have to do the things your body is sending the signals for, tightness, stiffness & lack of movement capacity isn’t normal.

Address what needs to be addressed, regressing in a programme is smart adaption. Sometimes taking a step back is what moves you forward.

As a coach upon completion of this course, I’ve evaluated what my training programme is looking like and if there are things I can add in to make my internal systems stronger it will have a ripple affect on my external environment.

So we dropping 1 day a week to focus on ISO’s, PAILS & RAILS for the next 3 months and monitor closely how I respond . I’m excited to see some improvements and yield some benefits from this as well as with clients.

It’s been an eye opener for me I’m so grateful for @functional_range_conditioning seminars & @drandreospina for the absolute passion and expert knowledge in their systems - it’s another world for us coaches so thank you for helping us to continue our practise 🙏🏾

First WOD being 31! Another year to stack the days.

Modalities: calisthenics, animal flow, kettlebells

When short on time this is what I pick 5 movements, 1 push, 1 pull, 1 squat or hinge, 1 ballistic movement & 1 bodyweight.

AMRAP FOR 20 mins
• Elevated pike push up
• gorilla rows
• Tactical squat clean
• Kick step H2H swing
• Animal flow sequence of - loaded beast> front kick through> under switch

20 & 24 bell play around today. Feeling strong right now and the only weight is up 😁😜

Lifting weight is one thing but knowing how to throw it around in multiple directions demands a type of stability that can only be achieved when you actually know how to move with them your athletic capabilities strengthen , it’s so physically demanding on your full body, you just cannot cheat the bell.

The asymmetrical load will always expose where you’re weakest.

Mobility, co-ordination, flexibility, stability, timing, strength, control, body awareness.

There is nothing missing, just the opportunity to forge strength and willingness to test beyond one’s comfort’s.

Augusts path was about realignment for me.

Change, moving parts & a path to walk that always brings me closer to myself even in turbulence.

Gratitude for it all and presence in being, the universe never abandons you, it just asks that you stay true to you even in uncertainty.

Blessed with this beautiful life, hello September & goodbye to the last day being 30 👋🏾 by @louslongevity

Unconventional training methods expose weaknesses you never knew you had.

Traditional lifting is gold, its foundational strength with purpose but for long term adaptation to happen the body needs to be challenged in addition and exposed in other areas for you to continue to make progress. using a variety of tools in the gym engages my body and brain in different ways that force me to learn how to control resistance that’s unpredictable.

Developing new neuropathways in unfamiliar movements help the body to stay prepared and opens more capacity for training and performance.

I can’t tell you im the BEST at any one given thing, (kettlebells are my forte) but my training reflects and accounts for many components of fitness which makes me efficient in many things.

Don’t be afraid to be that person in the gym that’s trying new thing to enhance yourself and to look like a beginner whilst doing it.

Your journey isn’t supposed to look the same as everyone else’s.

5 months left of this year and the focus remains, stay consistent with the foundations - strength, mobility, body weight movement, integrated skill with the KB’s, power & speed. (sprints added in soon)

Training is at 100% 4 days a week and in between I prioritise rest (I take 2 full days of nothing just walking) , active rest days are kb flow & mobility with some hiking because of course I can’t sit still. My body is coming back stronger than before because I’ve been building slowly over these past few months I feel so so good in my training right now.

Development is really important to me, in strength, mobility, skill & adding in some more focus on the conditioning since that’s really an area I feel that needs attention! But we moving in a good direction & the journey continues to excite me 🙏🏾

If you’re blessed with a very capable body, don’t forget it and most importantly humble yourself with respecting that this is a lifestyle and it can’t be rushed neither can it be streamlined.

All of it is learning to make YOU better. 👌🏾 taken in Lamai, Koh Samui, Thailand by @louslongevity
