I’ve been searching my phone endlessly seeing if I could find a picture of you and I couldn’t so I had to steal this great picture from Crystal Edwards ❤️ it’s funny because you’ve taken my pictures for all of my modeling or for almost every important event I had and all my life it seems like you’ve been behind a camera instead of in front of one. I believe our relationship was definitely unique from the years long ongoing bits and all the times you’ve stepped in to help me when I’d find myself in a pickle. Today, I was reminded why El Roi — “the God who sees me” — has become my favorite name of God.

Something small happened today that brought me to tears. Not because of the thing itself, but because it felt like God was reminding me, “I see you.”

And suddenly I thought about how I’ve always been the person who does things when nobody is watching. Picking up the trash. Returning the shopping cart. Helping without being thanked. I used to wonder why I did those things.

Now I understand.

God was watching.

He sees the quiet obedience.
He sees the sacrifices nobody thanks you for.
He sees the needs you haven’t told anyone about.
He sees the things you carry silently.

And maybe that’s why this name feels so personal to me.

El Roi sees.

After well over a year I finally got a retwist and my hair is thanking me!! Hats off to Shay for doing her thing because we did a full reconstruction on a whole side of my head!
