Today, a new queen is crowned, but before we look forward, we honor the woman who carried our flag with fire.

Matea Mahal Smith, our Miss Grand Jamaica 2025, walked this journey with the heart of a warrior and the grace of a queen. From the first day of preparation to the bright lights of Thailand, she carried not just a title, but the soul of Jamaica, its people, and the values we hold dear: strength, unity, resilience, and love.

She stood on that international stage not only as a contestant, but as a daughter of the island, a voice for peace, and a symbol of what it means to represent Jamaica with pride. Her journey was not just about competition. It was about purpose, growth, and the unshakable spirit that makes our nation shine.

Today, we celebrate her.
Today, we thank her.
Today, we honor the queen who represented us with pride.

Matea, your legacy lives in every heart you touched.

Queens of Jamaica 🇯🇲
United as one! For the people, for Jamaica ❤️

Grateful for everyone who made today possible. Very special thank you to all the 5K participants and volunteers. Thank you Dad for driving and helping every step of the way, Mom for helping me organize every effort, and Ate Donna for showing up to serve. Thank you Dr. Natasha of @medicaltourismrn for all the clothing donated to the storm victims. Huge thanks to the Church of God of Prophecy, New Works Liberty Hall, for welcoming us with open arms (and the sweetest fruit plate). Very thankful to @officialmissuniversejamaica and @curvesjamaica for the feminine products💗

From Manila to Kingston, this Christmas reminded me that the greatest gift we can give is love, presence, and hope. As an ambassador for both Sophie’s Place and BYSMP, I am deeply honored to stand with these incredible children, their family, and the fearless teams that care for them every day. Together, we choose compassion because my purpose is rooted in creating a kinder, safer, and more sustainable world for every child🎄❤️🌎

A couple of weeks ago, a garage sale was held where all the proceeds went toward resources for children with disabilities. With the sale, essentials such as diapers and milk were purchased for the children of Sophie’s Place✨

Sophie’s Place is a home for children with severe physical disabilities. Thank you to everyone who helped. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to creating a world where all children are cared for and valued🩷 taken in St Andrew Jamaica by @lovealwaysmatea
