i’m filling my booth with deals…

Woven In Love Class 2

1. Class was bangin! Literally another 20 ball.
2. All ages. Families came together. We did everything in the plan and it was flawless.
3. Katrina brought her machine.
4. Carter brought me a coffee cake muffin.
5. Gretchen took all the photos.
6. Trevin brought his two sons.
7. Tay All Day popped in.
8. Cyd is official class assistant! She helped prep fabrics, brought her sewing kit, and fact checked me on sewing terms.
9. Coco brought her niece and invited a friend.
10. Kim is gonna learn to do alterations.
11. Jayla came back for the second class and was proud about it! I love that.
12. Candice and Jasmine invited friends!
13. We all learned new things.
14. Next week I need like 20 seam rippers! Cause they’re mad important!
15. I try to remember everyone’s name, but I missed just a few.
16. Thank you to Baxter Community Center. Vashti, Dre, and Mitch always are so accommodating. Baxter feels like home!
17. The more you sew, the more comfortable you get. Time and application is necessary!
18. I’m looking forward to the next class, which will be Monday, October 12.
19. Until then, check me out at Artists and Afros this weekend at Norton Sports and Learning Complex.

TODAY! Artists & Architecture is open til 5.

I’ve spent the last few days inside this house watching an idea turn into something real. Artists bringing their work in. Finding the right wall for the right piece. Staging the rooms. Moving things around. Stepping back. Moving them again. Watching a house become a gallery.

And now I want y’all to come experience it.

This isn’t a traditional gallery. It’s art inside of a home, in the neighborhood, surrounded by architecture, design, music and community. Paintings, photography, leather work, fiber art, mixed media and more — all from an incredible group of artists who trusted us with their work.

Come walk through. Take your time. Meet some artists. Find something you love. See what happens when we create spaces for art where we already are.

This past weekend, as part of OuR Home: 2026 Russell Homecoming, we explored the rich art, history, architecture, and culture of Russell during the Black Art Trolley Tour with @blackartistsgetpaid 🎨✨

We got to experience Russell through a creative and historic lens, exploring murals, architecture, a art gallery tour of Nzingha Creations Gallery/Studio and a special mansion tour with Gabe and Kaila, who are restoring a historic mansion right here in the Russell neighborhood. Guests had the unique opportunity to step inside the home and see Gabe and Kaila’s restoration work firsthand, while also experiencing the work of artists @lovedjalways @mari_yahtheartist and @art_of_balance23s . From the stories behind the artwork to the preservation of historic spaces, the tour was a chance to discover and celebrate the incredible history, creativity, and people that make #RussellProud 🧡

Today was sooooooo DOPE.

Big love to Russell: A Place of Promise and Okike for the opportunity to be a part of the Black Art Trolley Tour.

There’s a couple in Russell who have been documenting the journey of purchasing and restoring a historic mansion in the neighborhood, and today, myself and a few other artists had the opportunity to exhibit our work there while the RPOP Homecoming Tour made its way through Russell.

I made some connections.
Talked to some lovely people.
Shared some art.
And got to share this childlike creativity of mine with even more people.

That part means a lot to me.

The Love Always Experience continues to permeate through the community — showing up in different spaces, meeting different people, creating, connecting and finding its way.

And this is only the beginning.

Tomorrow, after I rock Love Always Radio in the morning on WXOX 97.1 FM, Woven In Love officially begins at Baxter Community Center from 5–7 PM.

Then I’m jetting over to Our Place at Ben Washer Park for “Love’s Holiday” — the 6th Annual 21st Night of September Party with DJ B-ROC.

And we’re STILL going…

This weekend is Art & Architecture with Red Door Properties, and the following weekend I’ve got some really cool things planned for Artists & Afros at Norton Sports & Learning Center.

I’m creating.
I’m connecting.
I’m building.
I’m sharing what I love with my community.

And somehow all these different pieces keep finding each other.
