💛 I want you to meet Maya. 💛 Maya is one of our LoveSetMatch kids, and she has a strength that leaves a mark on everyone who meets her. She’s a pediatric cancer survivor with the brightest smile and the biggest dream — she tells us she wants to be the next Serena Williams. Watching Maya on the court is deeply moving. Every swing, every laugh, every high-five carries so much courage. Tennis isn’t just something she plays — it’s joy, healing, and a place where she gets to feel strong, free, and hopeful again. Our free donation-based tennis programs exist for kids exactly like Maya. Kids who deserve a safe space, caring coaches, and a community that believes in them — especially after everything they’ve already overcome. We’re celebrating Anisha’s birthday on October 3, and I really hope we can do something special for her. She is someone who quietly does so much for LoveSetMatch from all the way across the world in Pakistan. And Anisha isn’t someone we just met online. She has been volunteering with LoveSetMatch for three years. She has become part of our team and part of our family. As our volunteer Program Manager, she is constantly there for us. Emails, meetings, volunteers, problems that need solving — Anisha shows up. Even when life is difficult on her side of the world, she continues showing up for all of us. What feels like a small amount here can go surprisingly far in Pakistan. So for her birthday, I’d love for all of us to come together and give something back to someone who has spent three years giving so much to our mission. Our goal is just $200. That’s only 50 of us giving $4 each! Every dollar we raise here is going directly to Anisha as her birthday gift. Anisha spends so much of what she has helping her family and so little on herself. I would love for her to have something that is simply hers to enjoy, whether that means treating herself, doing her nails or hair, going out with friends, or saving toward something she has dreamed about for years. She once told me she dreams of going to Naran Kaghan, one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan, but she has never had the chance to go. Maybe together we can bring that dream a little closer. ❤️ Let’s do this together! Happy Birthday, Anisha. Our LoveSetMatch Summer Volunteer Appreciation Party 💛🎾 What a beautiful day celebrating the people who make this mission possible. This organization has never just been about tennis. It has always been about the incredible coaches, volunteers, and supporters who show up for our communities across Los Angeles and beyond. It is about these friends who dedicate themselves week after week — after long days, busy schedules, and full lives — and still choose to give their energy to our kids and raise the level of education through STEM based sports. All of them volunteer quietly doing everything behind the scenes: setting up courts, picking up balls, welcoming families, encouraging beginners, taking photos, organizing, cleaning up, and making every program feel warm, safe, and full of joy. Our lead coaches who carry our programs at the parks, schools, and gyms to create fitness for our players — becoming mentors, role models, and a steady source of encouragement. To every volunteer who has given your time, energy, and heart to LoveSetMatch — thank you. You ARE lovesetmatch.
