Cat’s finally out of the bag - SURPRISE! We’re married! Over Thanksgiving weekend Ryan and I eloped on our 8 year anniversary. It was a silly, sparkly, magical little ceremony in an old growth redwood forest accomplished with the help of @valstrong76 and @spazarmstrong84 (under the watchful eye of The Flying Spaghetti Monster). Afterwards, we went wine tasting in our silly outfits, it made for quite the spectacle. True to our natures, it made for a unique, non-traditional, no-pressure, fun, and memorable experience. Massive shoutout to @sashacolby for making the best ponytail extension ever. Cheers to calling each other “property” for the rest of our lives. #elopement #mawwaige #wuvtruewuv #sparklewedding #weddingbellswithoutweddingbills taken in Hendy Woods State Park by @lovestang

Might not look like much, but pictured here is the thing that brings me the most pride and hope out of everything that happened in 2022.

This is about as much as I could fit in a panorama shot of the beautiful 3 acres of land Ryan and I bought just outside of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Procuring the loans and resources to purchase this land was a long, arduous, and stressful process - but it was worth every bit of energy poured into it.

The land sits about halfway up a hill around 7600ft and just 2 miles down the road from my brother and sister-in-law, @stefanistang. It is vacant land and will require a lot of cleaning up and work to develop it. We hope to spend the next 2-3 years saving money so we can install septic, build a solar array (as we will be off-grid), putt in a water cistern, and hopefully build a rammed-earth style home. This next year will primarily be focused on cleaning up the lot, as the previous owner left quite a bit and people appear to have been dumping their trash and tires on it for the last decade. Bring it on.

I can’t wait to share more of this process with you all - though it may be slow and uneventful for some time. Looking forward to the next big adventure of my life. #aspensprings #unit6 #pagosasprings #colorado taken in Aspen Springs by @lovestang

Some recent fun sends @climbatalpine 🧗‍♀️I rarely post on the grid anymore these days. I suppose stories just feel easier and a little less overwhelming. Who knows why? Anyway, here you go! taken in Alpine: Climbing • Adventure • Fitness by @lovestang

2024 - Wow, what a year. Some low lows and high highs. Big losses and big gains. A year of paradoxes for me if ever there was one.

In no particular order, the personal lows include: the sudden and tragic loss of a dear friend; at least 4 poison oak battles; the expected, but sad loss a family matriarch; endless health issues; and saying goodbye to my first dog, Gypsy.

The highs include: fitness PRs, crack climbing clinic in Moab, all of the outdoor adventures, 3 weeks spent with family and working on our land, renewal and strengthening of friendships, so many kitty cuddles, progress in crochet skills, progress in climbing, and getting hitched!

I accomplished my overarching goal of focusing on consistency - especially with movement. There are things I did well and things that still need a lot of improvement. All in all, I’m proud of myself and finding more comfort and strength in not just owning who I am, but loving myself. Cheers to another year, onto the next 🥂 #goodbye2024 by @lovestang
