For the love of the craft — I’m sharing something special we’re bringing to our upcoming event @sjmade, and more importantly, our embrace of handmade goods and my appreciation of Ali @lovethroughletterpress for pushing us to make these beautiful gift tags!

These are all individually painted by Ali and me, upcycling our leftover stock from our summer event. I finally decided to put my press to the test by diecutting the shapes. I’m so excited it worked so well! I’ll share some thoughts in my stories about how even this is part of a trade that is aging out (sadly). I will be bringing my little press, Ruth, so that you can have the chance to letterpress some tiny text onto the tags themselves. This is free with purchase as supplies last. We met at a red dirt camp 6 years ago, but our families have known each other forever. She’s been there since the start of Love Through Letterpress and has rarely missed a craft show of mine! I’m so appreciative of Caitlin and am so very thankful for her. Her intuition, Enneagram 2 superpowers, thoughtful gift giving and love for her family and friends is evident in all that she does … and she can set up the LTL booth in under an hour, amazing!

She just got married on Saturday and it was such a joy for me to design her wedding invitations and paper goods for the big day. And what a pleasure it was to see it all come together in a beautiful and thoughtful way.

Here’s to more craft fair selfies, boba runs, Asian meals and fun adventures now that she’s back in the Bay! Love you Caitlin, and congratulations from the bottom of my heart! by @lovethroughletterpress

The girls and I assembled our Chuen Hup with special goodies this last week, so I filmed me putting it together. We love taking part in our cultural traditions, and it’s so important to pass these things on to the next generation.

We have so many adventures in our beloved City by the Bay, and here are clips from our times there … and although the city has changed so much, it still has my heart! As a teenager I used to take public transportation into the city and explore Union Square with my friends. These glimpses of the bridge and the city inspired the colors of our wool felt San Francisco flag.

So here’s my ode to San Francisco with the newest golden city flag for SF, never San Fran … the flags come in two colors - Rust for the Golden Gate Bridge and Goldenrod for the Golden State

This is an iconic song and one of the most downloaded and aired Christmas songs in the US … and it came from such a deep place for songwriter José Feliciano and I love the sentiment behind it.

“Feliciano says he recorded the song while feeling homesick at Christmas, missing his family in New York City … He remembered celebrating Christmas Eve with his brothers, eating traditional Puerto Rican foods, drinking rum, and going caroling. “It was expressing the joy that I felt on Christmas and the fact that I felt very lonely,” he told NPR in December 2020. “I missed my family, I missed Christmas carols with them. I missed the whole Christmas scene.’” - Wikipedia

I love the traditions of the holidays and the reminder to love those around you as the greatest gift you can give. This letterpress card was fun to make as a bright reminder of the popular greeting!

One of the best things about holiday traditions is the yummy treats that are baked and exchanged by loved ones everywhere.

This lovely (and tasty, might I add) treat pictured is a gluten-free gingerbread cookie from @mariposabaking and it is the perfect complement to my new holiday treats letterpressed card! It was tough to make this bite look pretty, but it sure tasted good!

This card was a tribute to my aunt who makes cookies with the girls every year and even makes aprons for them too. We are going to gift her this card tomorrow, and can’t wait to dig into her delicious special treats! by @lovethroughletterpress

Market season is here with summer in full swing, and I’m reminded of my first market last year at @headwestmarketplace at @hangar1distillery - I think the best compliment I received that weekend from a fellow vendor was that it didn’t seem like it was my first show! I am grateful that all those years of attending shows and working them for friends really prepared me for what was to come. Making my fixtures and thinking about all the little details was an amazing challenge and adventure. Thankful to wonderful friends and family for their constant support and help each time! I’m not doing this alone!

My next market will be later in August, details coming on that soon … and lots of fun new products debuting at that show! Hope you all are having a good Monday!
