May is AAPI / AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month. Kwohtations is proudly an Asian- and woman-owned business (hi, it’s me!)

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about these heritage months. They can feel performative, especially now when our safety and rights are still actively under threat; the brief burst of visibility and support often disappears as soon as the month ends.

And yet, it's an opportunity to pause and celebrate the beauty, richness, complexity, and strength that come from our diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and identities.

So here's just a few of my favorite AANPH artists & stationery companies, who are also wonderful friends and humans. Here's to supporting and celebrating us this—and every—month. ❤

Gracias @sjmade for another legit event. One of my favs of the year. I think this is my fourth or fifth one I’ve been to. Always leave the Holiday Fair in a good mood and this year was no exception.

Shout out to all the small business owners out there. Y’all the real mvp’s. So much talent in the building. I’m in awe. Mucho respecto.

As always I don’t leave empty handed. I even got a gold star. That was dope.

If you ain’t been to this event, what are you waiting for?

For the love of the craft — I’m sharing something special we’re bringing to our upcoming event @sjmade, and more importantly, our embrace of handmade goods and my appreciation of Ali @lovethroughletterpress for pushing us to make these beautiful gift tags!

These are all individually painted by Ali and me, upcycling our leftover stock from our summer event. I finally decided to put my press to the test by diecutting the shapes. I’m so excited it worked so well! I’ll share some thoughts in my stories about how even this is part of a trade that is aging out (sadly). I will be bringing my little press, Ruth, so that you can have the chance to letterpress some tiny text onto the tags themselves. This is free with purchase as supplies last. Come find us at booth E15 at this year’s Holiday Fair @sjmade on Nov. 28th and 29th! ❤️
