First XC flights ticked off the bucket list thanks to some very thermally active late winter days - what a dream! I thought flying cross country and landing wherever the wind (and sun) takes you was still a far off dream, but the combination of gentle wind conditions and up to 3 meters of lift per second made it very fun to dip my toes into these waters. And it's addictive! Thermaling alone is exhilarating (imagine being in an elevator that shoots you into the sky at 10km per hour!) but combining it with covering a larger distance, flying over 3000m peaks and glaciers and frozen lakes and along ridges, following eagles in their trails, and the thrill of the race against time trying to find your next thermal behind the next cliff, all so you can keep on gliding... absolutely nothing like it! taken in Pitztal by @lowegetshigh

Whilst we got a huge dump of snow here last week and a sky high avalanche risk, I'm dreaming of the Brenta last year and getting so so excited for 2026 Dolomites adventures 🧗‍♀️🏔🍕
