Italian craftsmanship meets everyday reliability. 🇼đŸ‡čđŸ”„
The Franchi Diamond 12-gauge over/under is that sweet spot shotgun — elegant enough to turn heads at the range, tough enough for a full day in the field. Blued or silver-receiver versions with classic scroll engraving, checkered walnut stock, vent-rib barrels (usually 27.5–28”), auto-ejectors, single selective trigger, and a set of choke tubes.
Lightweight (around 7–7.5 lbs), balances well, and has that smooth Italian swing hunters and clay shooters love. Owners consistently call it one of the best values in a true made-in-Italy O/U — perfect for upland birds, sporting clays, or just looking sharp while you break targets.
Classic looks. Solid performance. Pure Franchi.

Annie Oakley: Little Sure Shot who never missed the mark 🎯
Born Phoebe Ann Mosey in 1860, she grew up hunting to help feed her family and became one of the greatest sharpshooters the world has ever seen. She could hit a coin tossed in the air, shoot the ash off a cigarette, and split a playing card edge-on from 90 feet away.
As the star of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show, she dazzled audiences across America and Europe, proving that skill, grit, and showmanship had no gender.
A true American legend.

From our Vintage/Military collection is this 1943 Underwood Inland Line-out M1 Carbine (CMP certificate of authenticity included)

đŸ‡ș🇾 The M1 Carbine – America’s lightweight warrior
Compact, reliable, and easy to handle, the M1 Carbine gave U.S. troops a fast-handling .30-caliber semi-auto that could be carried all day without weighing them down. From the hedgerows of Normandy to the jungles of the Pacific, this little carbine punched well above its size.
Over 6 million were built — more than any other American small arm of WWII. Still one of the most iconic rifles of the Second World War.
Would you have chosen the M1 Carbine or the M1 Garand?

Few names have left a mark on firearms training like Col. Jeff Cooper.

A Marine veteran, instructor, and prolific writer, Cooper founded the American Pistol Institute—now Gunsite Academy—in Arizona in 1976. His Modern Technique of the Pistol helped shape generations of firearms instruction, and his enthusiasm for the Colt 1911 and .45 ACP became a signature of his work.

His influence also reached the bookshelf. Titles such as The Art of the Rifle and To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth reflect a distinctive voice that still sparks discussion among firearms enthusiasts.

What’s your favorite Jeff Cooper book or contribution to firearms history? Share it below. 👇

đŸ”„ Steel becomes a canvas.

Swirling blues, warm golds, and smoky grays—color case hardening gives classic lever-action rifles a finish with unmistakable character. No two patterns are exactly alike, making each piece its own work of art.

Traditionally, the process creates a hardened outer surface on suitable steel parts while producing those distinctive colors. On a classic lever gun, that craftsmanship pairs beautifully with rich walnut and timeless lines.

It’s a finish that invites you to stop, look closer, and appreciate the details. đŸ€

Which classic lever-action wears color case hardening best? Tell us your favorite below! 👇

They called them sweetheart grips.
In the middle of World War II, American soldiers (and some from other nations) started salvaging clear acrylic — Plexiglas or Lucite — from the canopies and windows of downed aircraft. They carefully shaped the material into replacement grips for their sidearms, most often the Colt 1911.
Then they slipped a photograph underneath: a girlfriend, a wife, kids, parents
or a favorite pin-up if no sweetheart was waiting at home.
The clear grips not only kept a loved one’s face close during the hardest days of the war — they also sometimes left one side open so a soldier could check how many rounds were left in the magazine. And if a pistol ever got mixed up, the photo made ownership obvious.
It was personalization under fire. A quiet act of humanity amid the chaos.
Today these grips are rare, highly collectible pieces of living history — little windows into the men who carried them.
Have you ever seen a set of original sweetheart grips in person?

đŸ”„ Small bore. Big character.

This vintage Harrington & Richardson .410 shotgun is getting a fresh dose of old-school style with color case hardening. Swirling blues, purples, and warm amber tones give the steel a distinctive look that pairs beautifully with its classic lines.

A tribute to traditional craftsmanship—and a little extra personality for a shotgun with plenty of history.

In 1998, Smith & Wesson built a limited run of 686 Plus Mountain Guns that quietly became legends among people who actually carry revolvers in the field. Slim tapered barrel. Round butt. Seven rounds of .357. Just enough weight to shoot well, not enough to weigh you down on a long hike.
Now, 27 years later, Lipsey’s and S&W have brought it back — and improved it.
The new Model 686 Plus Mountain Gun keeps everything that made the original special and adds modern strength: ball-detent lockup, reinforced forcing cone, no internal lock, and beautiful Tyler Gun Works Bear Hug walnut grips. Brushed stainless, gold-bead front sight, and that classic Mountain Gun profile that just looks right on a belt or in a chest holster.
At 35 ounces it’s lighter than many K-frames, yet it still has the durability of an L-frame built for continuous Magnum use. Whether you’re packing it for bear country, ranch work, or just want a beautiful, practical .357, this one hits the sweet spot

Remembering Skeeter Skelton — the real deal.
Born in Hereford, Texas in 1928, Charles “Skeeter” Skelton lived the life most gun writers only write about. Marine Corps, Amarillo PD, U.S. Border Patrol (including the last horse-mounted patrols), Sheriff of Deaf Smith County, Customs, and DEA Special Agent in Charge before retiring to write full-time.
From 1967 until his death in 1988, he was the Handgun Editor at Shooting Times, penning more than 400 articles filled with hard-earned knowledge, dry humor, and unforgettable stories (“Me and Joe,” Dobe Grant, Jug Johnson). He helped revive the .44 Special, loved his Ruger Flat-Tops and Smith & Wessons, and never took himself too seriously.
His collections Good Friends, Good Guns, Good Whiskey and Hoglegs, Hipshots and Jalapeños remain must-reads.
A true American original. The kind of writer who made you feel like you’d just spent an evening on the porch with a trusted friend.
Who else still pulls out their old Shooting Times issues for a Skeeter fix?

Just arrived - 1942 Ithaca Model 37 w/ US Military Acceptance Marks

Few shotguns have earned a legacy quite like the Ithaca Model 37.

Introduced in 1937 and based on John Moses Browning’s innovative Remington Model 17 design, the Model 37 quickly became known for its smooth action, lightweight handling and distinctive bottom-loading, bottom-ejecting system. That unique design helped protect the action from dirt and weather while making the shotgun equally friendly to right- and left-handed shooters.

Over the decades, the Model 37 served sportsmen in the field, law-enforcement officers on patrol and American military personnel in wartime. From the classic Featherlight to riot and trench-gun configurations, it built a reputation for reliability, balance and unmistakable craftsmanship.

Nearly ninety years later, the Ithaca Model 37 remains more than a shotgun—it is a true American classic.
