Meet the candidate! Ludwig Tjörnemo has spent more than a decade shaping his craft, from early days in the kitchen as a teenager to working at some of the world’s most acclaimed restaurants like Per Se and Eleven Madison Park in New York, and Restaurant AOC in Copenhagen.

Competition has always been part of his DNA. He’s represented Sweden in both the Junior Culinary Team and the National Culinary Team, won Årets Kock 2020, and now being Sweden’s candidate for Bocuse d’Or 2026–2027.

BREAKING NEWS! 🤩
This week, the national selection for @bocusedor_sweden took place. 🇸🇪
Three chefs competed, and Chef @ltjornemo claimed first place!
He has now earned the chance to represent his country at the European selection in 2026. 😍

But who is the chef behind this victory? 👨‍🍳
Competing in the Bocuse d’Or has always been his goal.
With over ten years of experience, from the Junior Culinary Team to winning Chef of the Year, competitions drive him.
Having supported previous candidates, he has gained valuable insight into what it takes to succeed. Representing Sweden means showcasing its ingredients, producers, and craftsmanship just as he did as captain of the Swedish Culinary Team.

Once again, congratulations!
We can't wait to see him next year at the Bocuse d’Or Europe! 👏

A shared meal says it all!

On 17 September, we welcomed Sweden’s Bocuse d’Or Candidate, Chef Ludwig Tjörnemo and his brilliant team to the Swedish Residence. Alongside our own Chef Heikki Liekola, they served a sublime contemporary menu, rooted in the traditional principals of seasonal, locally-sourced Swedish cuisine. Behind the scenes from a @foodoffice.se production with @visitsweden and @bocusedor_sweden on Gotland, meeting the local producers behind Swedish ingredients — from seaside smokehouses and wild honey to lamb and vegetables.

Together with chef @ltjornemo and @emilia_bjorklund_ we set of to discover the land, the people and the stories behind the flavours who represent Sweden. Because great food begins long before it reaches the kitchen.
