I was fortunate to be able to spend the day in the woods with my good friend @ltmike310 and some great blades. The @coldsteelknives Trailmaster needs no explanation. It is a big blade that can do darn near anything asked of it. The @rmj_usa Shrike is a tactical tomahawk that is just as at home in the woods as it was in the GWOT. The @wcknivesllc Fieldlore is a carving, slicing powerhouse of a belt knife. All@of these tools are amazingly useful and a real joy to use. They are each at close to the pinnacle of their cutting genres. #bushcraft #woodsman #easternwoodlands #rmjtactical #trailmaster by @ltmike310

Just a small bit of insurance for the outdoor trekker/bushcrafter/adventurer. Weighs in at only 1.7 ounces with very little bulk!! @exotac Firesleeve and @wazoogearco SOS Micro Whistle. I added the 550 cord and split ring for the whistle. A great package. I have gifted this setup to friends who venture out off the beaten path. Shout out to Kevin Estela @estelawilded who gave me my first OD green Firesleeve. Pass this on. by @ltmike310

March 2026 Meeting of the Minds went on without a hitch! It's been a bit since all four of us were at the desk (bar) for a meeting.

Still in the 30s, it felt like a winter Meeting. However, the warmth of the people, barkeeps, and camaraderie kept us snug. Not to mention the vivations!

Shelters in the Adirondacks. We all had our own thing going on. Tarps, hammocks, and a tent. I used the @coalcrackerbushcraft 10x10 Dutchware tarp. And Lt Mike had one for us to shelter from the rain.

Skillset Magazine- I am doing an article on Knife & Tool Bad Habits. Sorta, Don't Do This- Do This!
We'll address some everyday bad habits and outright dangers of using tools in the wilderness.
Cutting on your leg 😱 vs backing your work up on a safe, solid work platform. And my pet peeve is the ol thumb on the knife spine habit ( like the banana in the tailpipe). I'm a fan of what works for you, but if it's not, change it up!

@ltmike310 helped with this as the hand model, semi-retired from that field. And the knives were courtesy of @knives_by_nuge. Thanks gents, for being legends!

A little PSA for thought. On a recent outing in the DAKS, I found a small pin on the lean-to log. Upon further examination, I discovered it was a cross pin from an Agawa Canyon Boreal 21 saw. I had the saw along, but it wasn’t from mine. I had seen a video from @paulkirtley where he recommended packing an extra set of pins and C-clips in the saw case. I taped a set to my extra blade in the saw case (last photo). I thank Paul for this advice as I have proof pins can get lost making the saw inoperable. I’ll keep this great saw working for me!! by @ltmike310
