The Nature of Things is over 65 years old, but continues to evolve, grow and take risks.

One of its greatest risks this season was allowing me to play with this well established format and help craft a sandbox for our inquisitive hosts to play in.

In a world where misinformation is shared daily and our relationship to fact finding, respectful debate, curiousity and the natural world becomes more tenuous, it was both inspiring and pure joy to witness Sarika Cullis-Suzuki and @anthonymorganscience at work.

Come join in my newest obsession of neon nudibranchs with @its_mad_science, unpack the grand design of the internet's most trolled fish the Mola mola, go on a wild climbing competition with @yvesgravelle and ugly cry alongside Anthony + Sarika as they breakdown the cultural science of spice while eating some of the worlds hottest spices w @chiefspicemama.

Love to our artsy Edmonton crew: @stephenrobinson.52 @tamarracanu.dop @gogogordon @you_rhi_and_dupree @cardhousedreamer @apa9175 Alexandra Paulhus, Phil Dransfeld, Seth Arcand, Rebecca Klassen + all.

Thank you to @chesleygirl for letting me sit at the cool nerd table for this project. Graham for your work and humour and our digital team @kxjal @onesssa @tessavikander

This year's @tiff_net will be memorable for reminding us of the breadth and impact of this storytelling community.

From another incredible edition of @tfmentorship that brought the legend @beverlyglenncopeland to share some words and a song (I'm not 😭) on life, art and resilience. May we all age with the confidence, wisdom and grace you embody. Thank you @gabriellerz for the invite and our annual King & Queen photo.

Congratulations to @earthtoneslab @aliyajasmine @alizasovani recently named as the Unscripted lead for @justinpjtrudeau and @ketelford new adventure @hopeandhardwork. The commitment to thoughtful and inclusive storytelling is both admirable and exciting.

Celebrating 30 years of @reelasian. Happy to toast your unwavering impact on the industry for Asian filmmakers.

Shoutout @amanda_parris for gifting us this masterclass In Conversation w @rmorrison. Anyone else want to run out and make a film after that talk?

And to my Sheridan alumni, this impromptu Market meeting connected me back to both our youthful ambitions and continued passion for breaking new barriers in this industry.

Until next year. taken in TIFF Toronto International Film Festival by @luciusd

@joerobinetbushcraft is onto something. As a wilderness expert and father, he knows a thing or two about adaptation and survival, but after a tragic loss followed by a life-altering accident, he ran into something not many of us can’t run away from - grief.

So when it hit him, he went to the wilderness to figure it out. I get it. When my brother passed, I did the same - and by same I mean exploring, hiking, kayaking - not sleeping on moss. ;)

Since this film’s release it’s seen a lot of success. It’s about to join the 200K club, had some great live screenings and my man @yunchampurrado just got nominated for Best Editing in Documentary Short by @canadiancinemaeditors .

I want to send a shoutout to director/cinematographer @adamppedersen who literally carried the film on his back. As much as I love what’s on screen, as a former cinematographer I know how complicated it is to film this deeply remote shoot out in the woods, to portage and camp with gear, all while trying to shape the story of a subject whose used to telling his own.

Check it out at @cbcdocs YT
