There was a time I would never imagine being named to the Order of Hamilton.

Not because I didn’t have dreams, but because life had a way of making “calling” feel heavier than “confidence.”
Because building something from nothing will humble you.
Because serving people while carrying your own weight will test you.

So when I say I’m honoured, I mean it with my whole chest! But not as a flex.
As a witness.

A witness that God can keep a person steady through seasons where the claps are quiet.
A witness that obedience still counts when nobody’s watching.
A witness that you can be tired, stretched, uncertain… and still be chosen for impact.

To My mom who raised me as a single parent and my sister who stepped up when Mom had to work…thank you. That kind of love marked me. That kind of sacrifice built me.

This recognition doesn’t belong to me alone. It belongs to the people who covered me, corrected me, and kept me grounded.

To my village.
To this city.
To my team and the Tune In family, the ones who build with me when it’s heavy, and believe even when it’s not flashy.
To Romée, my partner in life — thank you for standing beside me, praying with me, and holding me down through the stretch.
To Jasmine — for your consistency, your care, and the way you help carry the work with excellence.

This honour has fingerprints all over it.

And above all, it has God in it, because I know what it cost to keep going, and I know Who carried me when I didn’t have enough to carry myself.

I receive this with gratitude… and with responsibility.
To keep showing up.
To keep building.
To keep serving with integrity.
To keep making space for the next one.

To God be the glory. Always. by @luckystickz

It was all a dream!! I’m deeply moved and honoured to be featured in the @hamiltoncitymag newest edition! As my birthday weekend begins, I’ve been reflecting on how far God has brought me—through every high and low, every win and lesson. 🙏🏾

I remember the early days, hustling to make things happen, often with nothing but faith and a vision. There were countless times I didn’t know how it would all come together, but I kept moving forward in faith, trusting that the path would reveal itself. Fast forward to today, seeing the impact of that faith and vision featured in the @hamiltoncitymag feels like a full-circle moment.

Similar to other programming that I get to do through the @tuneinfoundation , the Blueprint is more than a music program—it’s a space where racialized artists can find their voice, their power, and their community. It’s about teaching others what I had to learn through 4 years of a Berklee Degree and further through trial and error, and seeing these talented artists flourish reminds me that we’re all in this together.

As I soon step into a new chapter of life, I’m deeply grateful for the people who’ve supported me, believed in the vision, and helped turn dreams into reality. Every challenge has only made me stronger, every blessing has fueled my purpose.

This magazine feature hits different and I’m extremely honoured that someone wanted to tell my story—there’s a deep sense of peace knowing that the work we’re doing is making a difference. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I carry forward with a heart full of gratitude, faith, and a commitment to keep building something greater than myself.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We’ve got so much more to create together. 🙌🏾 🤗 by @luckystickz

Music opened doors for me. The goal is to keep them open for others.

Grateful to join the Community Music: Folk Forward panel at the @folk_canada Conference, right here in Hamilton.

A meaningful conversation about the power of music beyond the stage: building community, preserving culture, and creating opportunities for others.

It’s the heartbeat behind what we do at Tune In Foundation. by @luckystickz

Another year of life. Thank You, God.

This year gave me a lot to celebrate, a lot to figure out, and moments when I had to stop and ask, “What am I building, and who am I becoming in the process?”

I spend a lot of time encouraging people to believe in themselves, trust the process, and keep going even when they can’t see the full picture. This year reminded me that I have to give myself that same encouragement. I’m still learning too.

I love creating opportunities. I love watching someone begin to see possibilities in themselves that they couldn’t see before. That’s still at the heart of what I do, whether I’m on a stage, in a classroom, or working behind the scenes.

But I’m also learning to make room for the man behind all of it. To enjoy life, be present for the people I love, and appreciate how far I’ve come without immediately moving the finish line. There’s a lot worth celebrating right here, even with things still unfinished.

As I step into another year, I’m asking God for the wisdom to know what deserves my yes, the courage to follow His direction, and the grace to keep growing without having every answer.

To everyone who has loved me, prayed for me, believed in an idea, shown up, or checked in just to see how I’m doing: thank you. I don’t take that lightly.

There’s still so much I’m excited to do. But today, I’m grateful for who I am, who I’m becoming, and another year to make music, make memories, and make a difference ❤️ by @luckystickz

Resonate Moments | 04
Joy

Sometimes healing looks like a deep conversation.

Sometimes it looks like singing at the top of your lungs, moving your waist, and forgetting your worries for a few minutes.

That’s what the Joy chapter of Resonate was all about.

There’s something special about Caribbean music, it has a way of bringing people together. Strangers become a crowd, a crowd becomes a community, and for a moment, everyone is smiling, singing, and celebrating together.

This soca medley was one of our favourite moments of the night. Seeing so many people on their feet, dancing, singing, and embracing pure joy!

What song never fails to put a smile on your face?

Resilience

Resilience isn’t about never facing hardship.

It’s about choosing to keep moving forward, even when the road is uncertain.

During Resonate, A Change Is Gonna Come represented that some of the greatest acts of courage are simply refusing to give up hope. Through every setback, every challenge, and every season of waiting, we hold on to the belief that brighter days are ahead.

Music has always had the power to inspire movements, heal hearts, and remind us that change is possible.

May this performance encourage you to keep going. Your story isn’t over yet.

What has helped you stay resilient through life’s challenges?

More than just a program. The Blueprint is a family.

Over the past 12 weeks, these artists showed up, challenged themselves, supported one another, and grew not only as performers, but as people. What started as a cohort quickly became a community built on encouragement, accountability, collaboration, and genuine connection.

As we celebrate the end of Blueprint 4.0, we’re also celebrating the beginning of something bigger. Every artist who walks through this program becomes part of the Blueprint Collective, a growing network of creatives committed to supporting one another long after the final showcase.

Congratulations to every artist in this year’s cohort. Your journey is just getting started, and we’re honoured to be a part of it.

Big thank you to @momentswmatt for these incredible photos! You truly capture the best of every moment!

Big shout out to our MD @smoovelunguana_ and his team @undergroundlive_tv for backing our artist live, and helping their music come to life on stage! by @luckystickz

A huge thank you to our mentors, adjudicators, volunteers, Tune In Foundation team, and our incredible partners: Hamilton Arts Council along with our sponsors FACTOR, Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Creates, the City of Hamilton, MainStage Rehearsal Studios, and Mills Hardware for the beautiful venue space.

Stay tuned as we announce the four artists who booked performance opportunities through the program, including spots on the Fresh Up stage and other upcoming showcases.

This is the Blueprint.
