Very beautiful, fragile and haunting work. I noticed other visitors staying with it through to the end , and then again.
From the panel text - Sahib developed the work from online footage of a dog moving through the rubble of a city under siege, translating a recorded image into a roaming, unstable trace. taken in The De La Warr Pavilion by @lucydayherethere

Managed to run up to London this evening and I’m so glad I did. Exquisite works by @cj.mahony which hold your attention but are never settled. As ever incredibly thoughtful work and exhibition. and SO good to have a catch up afterwards .

After four weeks of This Is My Brighton, our evolving portrait of the city reaches its final question: what do we choose next?

This Friday, @lucydayherethere , Executive and Artistic Director of @phoenix_artspace , joins us at The Vault to talk about the paths artists can take through Brighton’s art world, the communities that help them keep working, and the value we can build together over time.

You don’t need to be a Wach’Art member to have a place in this conversation. Artists, neighbours, collectors and patrons all have something to bring. Your attention, your connections and your support can help a grassroots organisation turn an exhibition into lasting opportunity.

📣BETOND THE STUDIO - PREVIEW THIS FRIDAY 6-8 pm

Please join me for a very special,30th year celebration this Friday at Phoenix.
@phoenix_artspace

We at r home to more than 100 studios and artists, and this exhibition features the work of 85 of us. It functions as a snapshot, a moment in time in the flow of our history and our future. What you will find is a joyous display of human creativity, encompassing painting, sculpture, film, photography, textiles, writing, ceramics, and everything in between.

Beyond the Studio is the third in a series of exhibitions for 2026 curated under the theme of Future Histories. This theme encourages us to explore how the past continues to inform, configure, and sometimes overshadow the present. It also asks us to understand that we are not bystanders in the flow of history and compels us to consider how our actions today will shape the history of tomorrow.

The exhibition title recognises that, while the studio is the starting point for each artist and maker, community is also built in the stairwells and corridors, where creativity is nurtured by chance meetings and conversations. It recognises that what artists imagine and create in their individual studios reaches the world through exhibitions, screenings, community outreach and engagement, teaching, and much more.

A snapshot from this year’s @uniofbrighton BA degree show . I was lucky enough to have half an hour of empty studios having met with our newest CASS Art x Phoenix. Studio awardee (selected from graduating students at University of Brighton ). Excited to have @celiafrancis.artist (pic 1 ) and her wonderfully confident, funny and thoughtful work, joining us from September @phoenix_artspacethanks to the generous ongoing support of @cassart1984 .

This year’s show was very strong. My photos don’t do justice to the amount of talent I experienced - I was too busy looking and talking- great paintings , sculptures , print, film 👏👏
I also didn’t capture on film the glorious exuberance created by hordes of happy students and guests. Art, beer, sunshine. It took me straight back to my own degree show at Norwich School of Art now @norwichuniarts - excitement, exhaustion , joy and terror all in one evening, surrounded by friends. Nothing else quite like it!
