NEW BOOK AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER
Structuring the Soul of Writing was something I created a couple of years ago and couldn’t decide if it should be a book…or an online course. So I wrote it as a book. And then I taught it. It was extremely well-received. And then the manuscript sat on my computer.

Because I have such a large rota of online courses, and more emerging all the time, I wanted to make sure that this material was out in the world, for those who need it, rather than sitting on my hard drive!

It’s about the thing I spend most of my waking hours doing – editing.

The thing that my authors value me most for.

The thing that most writers long to know how to do.

I spent the last year expanding the material. The book includes:

Reflections on creating with soul in the age of AI.

Lots on writing and editing for neurodivergent folk.

Archetypal editing – what it is and why it works.

It’s packed full of:

Reflections on the editing and writing process from my two decades of experience.

Lots of exercises.

Step by step guidance.

Workshops where I show you how I draft my own writing.

l had great fun creating the cover art. A beautiful and vibrant patchwork of my alcohol ink art and words, it visually references my previous book covers - She of the Sea and Creatrix - which are  referenced in the book, as I explore the creative process behind editing them.

The book is about the art and craft of creative editing and it being a deeply creative process, rather than a logical or intellectual process as we are taught it in school. Its intended readership is creative people who have struggled to edit their writing. I share

My work is not for everyone.

But if you're here, then chances are, it is for you.

The dreamer, the edgewalker, the multi passionate creative, the magic maker, the highly sensitive, the neurodivergent, the wonderer and wanderer....

I write for those who have always felt alone, who have chosen the path less-travelled, who for whatever reason do not feel we belong to the world at large. For those who travel by the light of the moon, who have found it necessary to hide in the shadows, to mask our weirdness, to bite our tongues and swallow our truth, to make ourselves smaller, to dim our glow. Who have never quite fit...and yet longed to. Who after years of denying our strange gifts are finally, finally owning them. Are daring to step out and be seen as we are, magnificent and without apology... at last, at last.

You are not alone.

This is what I create... (Links in bio)

I am the author of 13 non-fiction books about creativity, lost archetypes of the feminine and cyclical living. Some of my best known are Burning Woman, Creatrix: she who makes, She of the Sea, Moon Time, Medicine Woman and The Rainbow Way. My newest book Structuring the Soul of Writing: a guide to creative editing is out in September.

I host the Creative Magic podcast, which features deep dive conversations with creative women and magic makers, past guests include Joanne Harris, Lisa Lister, Pam Grossman...

I invite you to join me over on Patreon for the Creative Magic book club and Creative Magic Coven for neurodivergent creatives.

I am the founder @womancraft_publishing where for twelve years we have been publishing beyond patriarchy.

I teach 3-4 online courses a year on various aspects of creativity. My next course will be Writing Nature and Magic in October.

My visual art has been in exhibitions, on book covers, book illustrations, used as logos and even a wine label for a woman-run vineyard in California.

I am a lover of seasons, spirals, patterns, creativity, colour and words, which is what I share on IG. All the photos I share are my own.

I was diagnosed as autistic 8 years ago... and have been seeking to understand myself through this lens ever since.

🩵💚 Giveaway is now CLOSED. Congratulations winners!🧡💜

🥳🎉I want to take a moment to celebrate 12,000 of you being here with me with a book giveaway.

To be honest so much of my current experience of Instagram is frustration:
😮‍💨Frustration at how few of you get to see my posts, because they are throttled by the algorithm
☹️Frustration at how few posts I see in my feed from people and creators I love
🤬Frustration at the amount of bots who follow and unfollow so frequently
🤯Frustration at trying to craft a visually coherent feed from my many many different creative and business threads
🤨Frustration about how hard it is to reach new folk now.

But let's be honest, I'm someone who gets overwhelmed at a dinner party of 8 people, who hides in the toilets at parties... so 12K of you, here, following my work... that's incredible. 🎈🎈🎈

THANK YOU!!!❤️🩵💚🧡💜

🎁💐Let's rock the algorithm and give it a reset so you get to see more of my stuff... And ... 3 lucky people will win a signed copy of one of my books, or either of the Womancraft Compendiums.

TO ENTER📘🌈🧡
💜1) Share one of my posts to your Stories AND TAG ME IN
🧡2) Comment BELOW THIS POST which of my books would you like to win.
💚3) Tag your friends to let them know!

A year of crocheted blankets. A year of creative survival. July 2025-July 2026 was a year I am glad to be finished with.

I survived the perimenopausal/autistic burnout/collapse/multiple infections/hanging onto our business by our fingernails/Trump 2.0 by crocheting almost a blanket a month.

2 each of the first 3, plus 3 others gifted and not pictured.

1) Boho Rainbow Blanket, pattern by Insomnia Crochet on Etsy. This is now my happy place over my weighted blanket on the sofa: my autistic nest. 2nd copy in progress to be gifted to my Womancraft righthand woman for Christmas.
2) Journey East Blanket. Pattern by Nancy Said, Etsy. Copy gifted to my sister.
3) Aria Blanket. Pattern by @attic24 . Copy gifted to my sister.
4) Ripple Blanket. My design.
5) Magic Circles Blanket. Pattern by Janie Crow, Etsy (For my brother's wedding present).
6) Brambly Hedge Blanket - my variation on @attic24 pattern. Christmas present for my mum.

Still crocheting...but my life no longer depends on it. Back to writing!

As a holistic feminist therapist getting my PhD, I am constantly looking at how we can bridge modern clinical frameworks with the ancient, indigenous roots of healing. Western psychology has a habit of pulling individuals out of their ecosystems and bloodlines, treating mental health as something that only happens inside a vacuum.
But true, decolonized mental healthcare requires us to look at the ancestral architectures of wellness. If we want to help clients heal somatic and systemic trauma, we have to look at the frameworks that came long before the DSM.
Here are 3 books that completely reframe what “therapy” actually means, and why ancestral wisdom belongs in the clinical container:
📖 1. Burning Woman by Lucy H. Pearce @lucyhpearce
Essential reading for understanding the collective “sisterhood wound” and the historical policing of feminine autonomy. This text is an incredible tool for examining how modern clinical spaces often pathologize passion, intuition, and somatic rage as “dysregulation” instead of seeing them as vital life force.
📖 2. The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock @arinmurphyhiscock
While it presents as a gentle folk guide, this is secretly a masterclass in eco-somatics and grounding. Our nervous systems are millions of years old and genetically optimized to regulate through simple, local earth-attunement. This book is a wonderful on-ramp for helping clients tap into bioregional plant safety and seasonal rhythms as tools for stabilization.
📖 3. Walking in the Secret Manner by Mark Saint Pierre & Tilda Long Soldier
A profound, deeply respectful look into the holy, complex spiritual and psychological healing traditions of the Lakota holy women. This text completely shatters Eurocentric psychological structures, offering an invaluable perspective on medicine, community care, dream incubation, and non-Western lineages of profound psychological restoration.
We cannot heal the modern psyche by ignoring the deep roots of where we come from. Reclaiming ancestral frameworks isn’t a trend it’s a clinical necessity. #reading #books #therapist #feminism #healing therapy psychology by @lucyhpearce

Snuggled up in my studio, under a blanket I crocheted, reading a book written by a woman -@sarahlarosawitch - I feel blessed to call a friend, and it's a pinch me moment: this gets to be my life. I get to actually know the woman who wrote this book that speaks to my soul. (And as if THAT wasn't fantastical enough, I get to PUBLISH her next book!) I am so looking forward to interviewing her for the @creativemagicpodcast in a couple of weeks time and sharing her and her wisdom further.

This gets to be my life over and over. My book shelves are packed full of inspiring women I have had the privilege to meet through my work: at events, interviewing them for my podcast, being in circle with them, publishing them, teaching or being taught by them.... a whole life full of creative heroines. by @lucyhpearce

Such a magical day trip yesterday to my favourite place, my Wood Between the Worlds- the woods around Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park. I have been there in spring and summer, and each time thought the woods would be wonderful for mushrooms... and they were!!! And the season is only just getting started. The best thing about planning my new one-night-only class Of Moss and Mushroom is that this was officially "work"....God I love my job!!

I love it when online magic spills into real life. I have got to know @sarahlarosawitch via my Creative Magic Coven/ Book Club - and it was so special to meet her in real life on her trip to Ireland...We had a wonderful few hours exploring the witchy parts of Blarney Castle gardens.

She's launching her new book Midlife Isis this month (which I endorsed and highly recommend you check out). And, very excitingly is also working on a book for us at Womancraft Publishing, which will be out next autumn. by @lucyhpearce
