My first feature in Interpubliq Magazine is out and I am so grateful.
This one goes deep. The stories that brought me to humanitarian photography in the first place — a refugee camp in Kosovo, a young girl in the Congo whose dried tears I didn’t notice until weeks later in the edit, women carrying water in the Kasais, communities I met in Laos, Burma, and beyond. The moments that made me who I am as a documentary photographer.

Nothing better than reconnecting with an old friend. @enricomastracchimanes and I met when we were in our early 20s just trying to figure out life. He went on to be a successful filmmaker and I went on to do all kinds of things I never dreamed possible back then. It’s pretty cool to think that there was a time when we had no idea what was ahead and that it would be so amazing! Ran into Dennys Ilic at the Leica Store and spent time talking about his experience with the Leica Q3. His relationship to the camera is thoughtful and lived-in, and it reminded me how certain tools stay with you over time.

Leica has been part of my life for decades. I’m noticing that familiar pull again.
