Happy publication day to the big-hearted woman @chloekbenjamin behind this big-hearted book, Under Story.

For the past 8 years, I’ve had the pleasure of watching Chloe work. Whether sitting across from her at @thesowsearcafe or catching up via text, I knew she was setting the bar higher than she ever has, because this is what she does. While most of us are writing sentences, Chloe is crafting entire worlds. You can see this meticulousness, intensity, and hunger for beauty reflected in her knitting, but the nature of writing is that it all happens privately, underground, until the day it gets to emerge into the light fully formed. Today is that day—and what a gorgeous form it has taken.

Under Story is full of imagination, philosophy, beauty, and heartache. It will blow your mind, rearrange your gray matter, and put it back together again better than you had it. It asks questions about the nature of memory and love and dares you to reconsider what your relationship to yourself can mean. I can’t wait for you to experience it and then to come talk to me about it at @secretgardenbks . We’ll have plenty for sale as well as signed bookplates.

To make the reading experience for knitters even more immersive, Chloe has also partnered with @ritualdyes and @sari_n_ to create a cardigan that exists in the novel as well as a gorgeous shawlette with colorways based on the cover! (The second is what I will be making - See their pages for details). What a way to step into fall 🍂🍁

Summer feels like a continuous four-month stretch of sun here in the PNW. Usually by now I’m grumpy for fall, but there has been so much to be grateful for that these very long days are sometimes still not long enough. 🌞 by @lucyrtan
