(across different (and my fav) series!!!!!!)

hi lovelies!!!! this post was so fun to make :) I was reading swordheart and brindle (a badger like creature) reminded me a lot of bartholomew from the knight and the moth & I imagined them having a lot of fun interactions!!!

I hope this also convinces you to read some of my fav series >:) they’re all listed on their slides if you’re wondering what books they’re from!!!! there were a lot more I wanted to include but I couldn’t find fanart I liked enough LOL 😭 like I think Halla from swordheart and Evangeline from OUABH would be such good cute friends!!!! but there’s not really any Halla art!

I also hope this convinces you to check out some of my favorite bookish artists! they’re all so immensely talented and bring our fav stories to life <3

I hope everyone gets some nice time with their bsfs <3

| september wrapped ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

HAPPY OCTOBER!!!!!!! my fav month im biased bc its my bday month but also like who doesn’t love fall, sweater weather, 50 degree weather, and red leaves?

September went pretty well for me! I moved back into school, got into the groove of things here, wrote a TON, and saw some friends I haven’t seen in a while!

what was your favorite thing you did or read this September? ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

| september reads ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

september was the knave and the moon’s month and you cannot tell me different!!!!!!! I took my time with it, absolutely devouring it and loving every moment. the mirror of infinite endings also came out this month which was very fun!

next up is the everlasting, which I am currently over 60% done with, and royal assassin, which I really am looking forward to going back to! 🩷

| september haul ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

uhm…………… so i got way too much stuff this month. September is a big publishing month, hence tkatm2, emily wilde deluxe ed (which i preordered months ago), and tmoie!

I got the bone season from half price books literally just because of the love @haileesbooks has for it mwaha

I’m the communications manager at my college’s English dept, and so I got the opportunity to work Marlon James’ signing table!!! he signed my copy and we had a wonderful chat! I also went to see Percival Everett speak at a nearby university for free which was awesome! snagged myself a signed copy there too!

| september visual media ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

yeah um so you know how i have a binge watching problem/superhuman ability? yeah so i watched 3.5 seasons of Gilmore girls this month 😫😫 so fun tho it’s THE fall show! also decided to reheat bc needed a little joy

I saw the resi movie in theaters and it was so fun!!!! I laughed a lot! #videogamescansaveyourlife

| september plays ⋆˚࿔⋆☕︎ ˖

this month was a BIG gaming month for me hehe!!! there was one weekend where I just could not stop playing spiritfarer it’s so cozy and fun!!!!! on the Minecraft realm my friends and I defeated the dragon, explored the end cities, and got elytras! I also played deep rock galactic with some friends! my attempt to get back to where I was on my bf’s alt acct LOL

ONE. MILLION. AND ONE. STARS. 🌟

if you’ve been keeping up with me at all over the last month you know that I’ve been OBSESSED with this book. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve blushed, I’ve rejoiced!!!!!!!!!!!

the stonewater duology holds such a special place in my heart, taking the no. 1 spot for my favorite series to date. I am in love with the prose, with the world, with its commentary, and most of all with its cast of characters.

spoilers ahead, please read at your own risk! there is a special (bartholomew) surprise on the last slide! I decided to go more in depth with this review because it’s so special to me.

it was really hard to cut down my thoughts for this one. I loved every moment and I miss it even more. there is so much packed into the pages of this duology and the only way to adequately sum it up is to read it yourself 🩵

| swordheart and DAGGERBOUND (ARC) reviews! ⋆˙𓍊₊

⋆˙𓍊₊ ⊹˚ daggerbound pub date: august 25, 2026!
⋆˙𓍊₊ rating: 4.75★

thank you so much @redwombatstudio @torbooks @brambleromance @netgalley for the advanced readers copy of daggerbound I had such a marvelous time reading both of these, but especially the arc :’)

⟡⋆ ࣪˗ˏˋ𓆣 ˎˊ˗ ⋆⟡
read these if you love:
𖧧 talking creatures that steal your heart!
𖧧 FUNNY (and I mean it!) characters to make you laugh!
𖧧 swoonworthy romance (first book is fxm, second is mxm!)
𖧧 a queer-normative, immersive world w representation
𖧧 a hobbit-like plot (a charming crew travels from place to place on an adventure!)

you can read daggerbound without having read swordheart, but I highly recommend reading swordheart first as the beloved characters from the first one come back in the second and that is always such a fuzzy feeling!!!!!!! ★

| my review(s)! ⟡⋆ ࣪˗ˏˋ𓆣 ˎˊ˗ ⋆⟡

most of the content in here is about daggerbound since this is an arc review, but what I enjoyed in daggerbound I really admired in swordheart as well, which is a testament to t. kingfisher’s writing and ability to get you attached to characters really quickly.

again I need to reiterate how FUNNY these books are. kingfisher’s got some comedic genius in her bc this book had me laughing out loud which I NEVER do for books!!!!!!! read for a good time!

| quotes from swordheart! ⟡⋆ ࣪˗ˏˋ𓆣 ˎˊ˗ ⋆⟡

the first book follows sarkis (a warrior trapped in a magical sword) and halla (a widow who lets him out of the sword). he’s grumpy, she’s wide-eyed and asks a LOT of questions (which he loves, of course..), but also has some cunning up her sleeve! they pair up w a non-binary lawyer-priest, a talking gnole (badger-like creature), and an ox to go on an adventure!!!! this book has older mcs which was a nice change of pace!!!

| quotes from daggerbound! ⟡⋆ ࣪˗ˏˋ𓆣 ˎˊ˗ ⋆⟡

the second book follows the Dervish (another warrior trapped in a sword!) and Edmund, a temple dedicate who has left his temple because of their misogyny and cloistered way of keeping knowledge. when Edmund is about to die, the Dervish doesn’t save him. though morality gets the best of him and I GUESS he by @lucys.lib

| july 26 wrapped 𓂃 ོ⋆☀︎𓂃⛱

SALT AIRRRRRRRRRR

hi everyone!!!!! happy august :)))) i hope you all had a delightful July! July was honestly the best summer month yet (i say that like there’s been more than one…)! so much reading and writing for me, both of which I’m pumped about!

feel free to scroll to see what I was up to in July <3 take care of yourself and have a wonderful august 🧡

| july 26 reading 💌✨

AH YAY A SUPERB READING MONTH!!!! we were off to a fabulous start with finishing book 1 of Emily Wilde’s encyclopedia of faeries, which absolutely hooked me. I read (and am reading) all three books on Libby which is saving me tons of money! tho I did preorder the deluxe edition of book 1 bc it’s BEAUTIFUL.

I also finished assassin’s apprentice—which was SO good. I’ll post a review of the full trilogy once I finish, but for now I’ll say that the writing was so lush and thoroughly researched, and it perfectly scratches the medieval-accurate fantasy itch. I also really enjoyed getting to know Fitz with (relatively) low stakes. also…. dogs……… [huge shoutout to @forestfairyslibrary @ereads.books @gumi0n @tigbooks & @afoularchive for gabbing w me I look forward to many more rote gabs!!! @aliteraryletters I hope you’re enjoying]

| july books & trinkets 🤏🧚🏼‍♀️💫

I was traveling a lot this month, and picked up trinkets as souvenirs!!!! my blind box secret luck continues with these cone smiskis!!!!

also someone protect my wallet from the witch hat atelier manga bc I want them all right now

exciting little free library find was a fredrik backman find, bc I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things especially from @neverending.story.mp3 !!!

| july visual media 🍓🐖🌱

i spent a lot of time watching the World Cup this month—it was a good way to bond w friends and family, and get myself out of bed and into the world! I didn’t really care much about the teams until the final VIVA ESPAÑA!!!! also f*ck fifa and that final performative halftime show but that’s another convo

the odyssey was SO SO good. my mom has devoted most of her career to homer, and so it was really special to go see it with her. I’m seeing it in imax in Chicago soon, which I’m super hype by @lucys.lib

| fishbone cinderella arc review 𓆜⋆˚࿔

𓆝 ⋆. publication date: july 28, 2026
𓆝 ⋆. rating: 4.75 ★
{SPOILERS AHEAD <3}

EVERYONE please drop what you’re doing (or reading) to read this book this summer!!!!!!!

this book is about female legacy, trauma, and strength. in this beautiful retelling of Cinderella (as well as the non-Western version of it), we follow Yut Ying / Helen throughout her whole life, from when the Japanese invade her home in the Chinese countryside to when she has her first child. our anchor in this story is Yut Ying, and she guides us through her generational trauma and story so gracefully. her curse is to disappear—and what more do they want from women?

this story is one of struggle and heartache, but it is also an achingly beautiful read. if you are easily moved by sister relationships as well as imperfect mother-daughter relationships, this book will pull at your heartstrings while surprising you at every turn.

𓆝 ⋆. tropes n taglines
★ mother daughter legacy (and curse), with inherited magical abilities!
★ the stepsisters are the best of friends
★ cinderella retelling playing on chinese folklore
★ complex characters that don’t fall into archetypes but instead fulfill their roles to their full potential
★ multigenerational and epic plot
★ historical fiction, set in a pre- during, and post-war setting

it is a truth universally acknowledged that we must give credit where credit is due, on booksta and everywhere! I would like to shout out my lovely @gumi0n for the idea of using the ipad instead of the kindle—i really wanted the color of the cover to be present in this review! by @lucys.lib

| books read and on my tbr as my pantone birth chart colors!!! ⋆｡𖦹 °.🐚⋆❀˖°

{plus some cheeky movie recs}

I really liked my colors for this!!!! I’m not a big zodiac gal (I only know the traits of my sign, libra, for fun!), but I felt like these colors really aligned with my inner self and child! tho I was surprised there was no light blue, but oh well 🥱

this challenge is so hard y’all 😮‍💨 I could not find enough pink books for two slides that I actually wanted to read (bc I’m not a huge romance girlie!)!

there’s a big variety of books here that I love or hope to love!!!!! anything that y’all see on here that you recommend or would sway me away from? by @lucys.lib
