Lukáš Priečko (b.1986)
House No 64, (2025)
Oil painting on panel
200 x 200 cm

This painting is less a depiction of space than a mirror for consciousness. It draws the viewer into an ambiguous interior, not just physically, but psychologically, where architectural elements resonate with emotional weight. The space is rendered with quiet precision, yet it holds contradictions that speak to the layered nature of perception.

Perspective invites you in, leading the eye down a corridor of patterned tile and warm light but that invitation ends at a closed door. Soft illumination grazes decaying walls, where beauty and neglect coexist. Decorative flourishes appear beside crumbling plaster, suggesting time’s passage and the persistence of memory. These juxtapositions: inviting yet closed, elegant yet worn, echo the paradoxes of our inner lives. How clarity and confusion, comfort and unease often live side by side.

The painting doesn’t ask to be interpreted. Instead, it offers a space for encounter. A stillness where the mind projects itself onto the architecture, filling emptiness with thought, memory, and feeling. In this quiet tension, the work reflects not just what we see, but how we see and how the spaces around us become landscapes of the self.

Door Knob, (2024)
Graphite drawing on paper
50 x 40 cm

The art of noticing, paying close attention to details in our surroundings, thoughts, or experiences that often go overlooked. It’s about cultivating mindfulness, being present, and observing the subtle aspects of life, whether in nature, people, art, or daily activities. This concept encourages us to slow down, notice patterns, appreciate nuances, and find beauty or meaning in the ordinary. It’s an approach that can enhance creativity, empathy, and awareness by helping us see the world with fresh, attentive eyes.

The Laundry Room, (2023)
Graphite drawing on paper
90 x 73 cm

A realistic drawing of a laundry room, centered on a washing machine caught with its door left open with fabric spilling outward. White tiles, exposed pipes, and utilitarian details are rendered with restraint and precision. The scene carries an almost journalistic observation of an everyday moment, factual, quiet, and unembellished. Rather than narrating an event, the drawing records a pause in routine, allowing function, repetition, and stillness to define the space.

House No 20 II, (2026)
Oil painting on panel
135x135cm

This painting continues my exploration of ordinary architectural spaces that quietly hold emotional weight. They often reveal more about our inner world than dramatic events ever could.

The unfinished walls, the suspended light bulb, and the warm glow behind the upper window suggest a moment suspended between presence and absence, completion and abandonment. The closed door becomes less a physical barrier than a psychological threshold: something familiar yet inaccessible, intimate yet distant. I am interested in that subtle tension, where realism begins to function as memory rather than documentation.

Although the image is rooted in a real place, the painting is not intended as a faithful record of architecture. It is an attempt to preserve an atmosphere, a feeling that emerged while standing in that space. For me, realism is a language of honesty. I use it not to imitate reality, but to reveal the quiet beauty and uncertainty that exist beneath the surface of everyday life.

I hope the viewer recognizes a place they have never been, and at the same time feels that they have been there many times before, because it is a place within us, more than a place in the real world.

Lukáš Priečko (b.1986)
House No 64 II, (2025)
Oil painting on panel
266 x 200 cm

Standing at the entrance of House No 64, this painting captures the moment where a space first reveals its character. The patterned floor leads the eye inward, yet the diffused light through the door creates a gentle pause, holding the viewer between arrival and possibility. Elegance and wear coexist in the details. Decorative molding beside cracked plaster, polished stone above fading surfaces, forming a quiet tension that speaks of time passing and memory accumulating.

Subtle footsteps on the tiled floor interrupt the stillness, a faint trace of the author’s presence moving through the scene. They anchor the viewer in a moment that is both observed and lived, reminding us that spaces are shaped not only by architecture but by the people who inhabit them. Like the mailboxes lining the wall, these marks hint at countless stories, fleeting yet real.

The work opens a threshold of perception, where architecture becomes a space for thought and feeling. It is not just the beginning of a house, but the beginning of a mood.

“irises in a vase”
oil painting on linen

Every painting begins with observation, but it ends somewhere else. What first caught my eye was the contrast of violet against pale blue. What stayed with me was the feeling of calm that existed in such a simple arrangement. by @lukaspriecko

The Parking Lot, (2026)
Oil painting on linen
100 x 100 cm

This painting is a place where the mind can rest.

An empty space without movement, noise, or human presence, only soft pastel light, evening silence, and a moment where nothing is asking you to go anywhere.
The painting doesn’t create a scene, it creates a pause.
