Ahh, Canada. We finally meet. The end of the trip has been a wild ride. Fires cut the hike short, so we made our own adventure. First a hike to an alternate terminus, then I flew home to pick up my truck and drive back. On the way north, I picked up some friends that I met along the way. The next day, we were notified that the PCTA had reopened the northern terminus. So we changed plans and headed directly there. Tagging the terminus felt more like a weekend backpacking trip than an end of the PCT. That happened a week before at Monument 90. Still, I am extremely happy I made it back up here.

Washington is beautiful. Not really much else to say. Goat Rocks was an incredible way to “finish” this year. Four more days to Snoqualamie Pass, which is the end of the road due to fires. It will be weird to come knock out the remaining 250 miles solo, but I’m extremely happy to have spent these last few weeks with some incredible folks. by @lukassavitz

The last couple of weeks have been quite the adventure. Prominent mountains like Hood are stunning to look upon for days on end. I know this adventure will be coming to an end shortly(possibly very shortly) but I’m glad I get to continue to enjoy each day. by @lukassavitz

I find myself taking far fewer pictures these days, but trying to include more of people I meet along the way. Northern California is still quite pretty, but it pales in comparison to the Sierra. Also, seeing Alan meet one of his heroes, Alex Honnold, and not be able to spit out a sentence was pretty awesome. by @lukassavitz

What an incredible first week in the Sierras. The highest peak in the continental United States followed by the highest point on the PCT. Exhausting, but hands down the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. taken in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks by @lukassavitz

As one adventure comes to an end, another is just around the corner. Lifelong memories and, more importantly, lifelong friendships gained. Nothing lost.
