We grow up in a place where getting an A without trying is applauded more than getting a C while giving it everything. That’s why we’re so afraid to fail, because we’re taught that effort only matters if it leads to success.

But real growth starts when you take the leap. Go take that risk. There’s no better time than now. And even if it doesn’t work out, be proud you tried.

A sound mind needs courage.
A sound body needs action.

Have some skin in the game. Have some believe. Chase that dream.
The only real regret is never trying.

17th at Asian Games. I would be lying to say I’m satisfied with the result, but I’m proud that I gave everything I could on that day. My body let me down this time. I had a good start position thanks to @quindostri tipping me off during pontoon draw. Swam with that front boys till the swim turn around where my body was just fighting to stay alive. Thank God we prepped for this course well as I still manage to somewhat “survive” till the end. Huge thanks to my coach and the support staff who have giving me this opportunity. It’s been a journey, but the journey doesn’t end here. One more race in Taipei 🇹🇼 next weekend before heading down to Brisbane 🇦🇺 for some good training.

I’ll be back in 4 years 😉 #AsianGames #triathlon #sport #singapore #racing 📸 @teamsingapore taken in Nagoya, Japan 名古屋、日本 by @luke.chuaa

Stop running 2.4KM all-out every time you train. If you want to smash your IPPT, you need to train speed + endurance + pacing.

Here’s what you can try:

1. RUN INTERVALS
400m repeats at faster than your target pace. Try 6–8 × 400m with 1–2 min recovery.

2. RUN TEMPO
15–20 mins at a hard but controlled pace.
Learn to hold speed without blowing up.

3. RUN EASY
Not every run needs to hurt. Easy runs build your aerobic engine and helps you recover.

4. KNOW YOUR PACE
Don’t guess your 2.4KM pace. Know your 400m splits (might be longer or short yet depending which camp you’re in) and practise hitting them.

5. DON’T SPRINT THE FIRST 400M.
Start controlled. Find your rhythm.
Then SEND IT for the final 800m. Your 2.4KM doesn’t get faster by suffering more.

It gets faster by training smarter. #IPPT #running #singapore #ns #run taken in Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் by @luke.chuaa

We dropped by Sports School to catch up with our athletes who are doing a last training camp before they leave for Japan for the Asian Games!

This is the first time we have individual representation at the Asian Games with two males and two females, on top of the Team Relay.

Let’s all send them our love and well wishes!!

Went to Ireland 🇮🇪 for a triathlon but got a duathlon instead 🤷‍♂️. Water current was too strong so the swim got cancelled. Nonetheless still managed to hit some processes right. A good bit out before Asian games next weekend 🇯🇵 #asiangames taken in Derry/ Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Uk by @luke.chuaa

I thought NS would take two crucial years away from my sporting career. Instead, I chose to embrace it. From BMT to OCS and becoming an Air Warfare Officer, NS challenged me in ways I never expected and gave me lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, and lessons that I still carry with me today. Looking back, I’m glad I made the most of the journey. #NSSG taken in Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் by @luke.chuaa
