My IG has been jacked up for a week. I’ve been wanting to post some pictures of last weekend for a while but it’s been crashing constantly which made it more work and irritation than it was worth... but we’re back in action again. Anyways here are some glamour shots I took of the car last week on Friday after I washed up the car in preparation for the Lodown Hodown. Need to get better at covering it up when I’m not driving it, it looks so much nicer cleaned! #hamb #hopup #hotrod #1929ford #tudorsedan #modelaford #bangersofig #vhra #scta #nhra #hopuplive #ohiohotrods by @luke4554
Seems like forever ago.. I have a lot of this to redo this spring to bring the sedan back to its old glory. Hopefully I can make some headway on it this season and get back to enjoying it again. . . . #ohiohotrods #hotrod #hamb #hopup #saltflats #hopuplive #fed #purebredspeedshop #bangersofinstagram #bonnevillesaltflats #fedragster #bumpside #speedweek #1928ford #flathead #halibrand #chassisresearch #magneto #1929ford #tudorsedan #modelaford #te440 #scta #nhra #eelco #moon #1931ford #392hemi #1930ford #1932ford by @luke4554

Go kart update! We’re back! Had to take some time off this summer and fall for sports. Now that football and soccer are over. We have a little more time to get back on projects. Today was a prefect time to work on the go kart so the project we started with was the seat. Got the nut inserts set in both cushion boards and got the foam and custom covers on. I wanted the seat to match the profile of the frame and laid out my fabric templates so that it would flow nicely but also have extra comfort that it never had. Really happy with how it turned out. I also cut out a piece of kydex for the back of the top cushion to give it extra protection in the elements and a more finished look since you can see it from behind. Had some time left tonight while we watched football in the shop and decided to get the engine placed in its final position and laid down some grip tape on the floorboard. Really happy how the grip tape turned out. It should protect some of the main wear spots from heels and climbing in and out and add some longevity to the paint. This motor is a little bigger than the previous Briggs so we will lose some seat adjustability long-term unless we go to an alternate fuel tank, which is probably what will happen eventually. Fortunately, where the seat sits right now is where the kids will need it for pedal control. Getting down to the final items now. Pedal linkages, chain, roll bar, and fluids and they will be off to the races.. #ohiohotrods #gokart #minibike #gopowersports #hotrod by @luke4554
Last night was a perfect night for fishing.. just not catching.. 🙃 by @luke4554
Big day for me. Pretty much ever since I’ve started putting pallet racking up in the shop. I’ve been wanting some sort of forklift to use it to its full potential. For almost 10 years everything that’s up there has gone up on my back on a ladder. After some thought I decided two weeks ago I was fed up. I began looking for forklifts and planned to buy a small outdated propane lift. One thing led to another, and I decided to change direction since I don’t know anything about the slab in my shop and I had concerns over damaging the concrete with a heavy ride on truck and decided to start looking for a stacker lift, then this thing showed up on marketplace. 6 hours of round trip driving later and it’s landed in the shop. It has everything I was hoping for. A 12 V hydraulic pump that runs off a deep cycle battery, adjustable, outriggers, and adjustable forks, and most importantly… 144 inches of lift. With 12 foot racks in my shop being able to finally put things up on the top is a game changer and will alleviate a ton of floor space for me. The previous owner added additional bracing and three-point attachments so I can hook it to the tractor as well, which should come in handy from time to time. Shoutout to the Silverado and my little trailer for never failing me on these adventures and thanks to @a.warner45 for being my copilot every time even with the 7am push off timeline 😂. I know it’s not glamorous, but this just might be one of my favorite purchases in the last five years. I think I’m getting old.. #ohiohotrods #purebredspeedshop by @luke4554
Got a bunch of Uncle Steve’s Hot Rod magazines put out last night on my magazine rack. Pretty cool to see the old sticker with his name on them when it was getting delivered to their house when him and Dad were young. Ended up with a mixed bag of ‘65, ‘66, & ‘68 and then the full years of ‘69-73. Some of them have been “well loved” and have missing pages or covers or have pictures cut from them for inspiration but I don’t care. They look pretty cool on that rack if you ask me. #hotrod #ohiohotrods #hotrodmagazine #bonnevillesaltflats #landspeedracing by @luke4554
Yay, clock works again. Now I know when to go home for the day.. er something like that.. by @luke4554
Snuck off and did some reconnaissance a couple months ago and had a flag made for Dad. One of his old hats he had made from when he was farming when he was young had an old Warner Farms logo on it and I always thought it would be cool to make it a flag and fly it at the farm. It was a hit, I think everyone enjoyed it and I couldn’t stop watching it up there. Pretty cool what we can do with technology nowadays compared to what was available when this hat was made 40-50 yrs ago. by @luke4554
More BMW parts. This time an AWD to RWD wagon conversion that required a custom transmission mount. Left and right side frame rails aren’t on the same plane and the threaded inserts in the rails aren’t close to being symmetrical either. Took some sweeping bends to get it together between the trans and exhaust mounts but got it knocked out. Always up for a challenge and building stuff from scratch is always fun. Cross member got a powder coated finish to wrap it up. #ohiohotrods #purebredspeedshop #hotrod #fabrication #bmw by @luke4554
Feels good having this guy tuned up again by @luke4554
Had a nice weekend celebrating Stephanie for her birthday. Went to a reds game and the ludacris concert and watched a movie yesterday with the kiddos to cap it off. We were running all over for sports and obligations this weekend but we were still able to come together as a family and spend some quality time before getting back to reality this week. Hope you enjoyed your birthday Steph, here’s to many more! by @luke4554
