My takeaways:
- I need to do more challenges like this, the mental space created by a long task with nothing to focus on bar maintaining momentum is great.

- the appreciation I felt by even being able to do this was something that shall take more centre focus.

- the hurt locker. What a place to spend some quality time. Uncomfortable yet comforting in space that it was all chosen.

- maintain my edge. I feel like my life gets easier when I spend more time feeling good in the hard parts.

I went quiet on socials for a while.

Not because nothing was happening.

Because everything was.

I cut the noise in all areas of life to build, learn, create, fail fast and build again.

I’ve been learning something that’s completely changed how I work, how I think, and how I run my life.

AI agents.

Not the hype. Not the ChatGPT party tricks.

The real stuff. Building systems that actually think with you.

And what I’ve realised is this isn’t just a tech thing.

It’s a skills thing.

I’m going to be sharing the process, the wins, the messy middle, the challenges, and most importantly the story.

A story where we decided to do life and business completely different this time round.

We’re just getting started.

My personal Truth is built upon navigating the small surface difference yet giant underlying chasm between two words… believing and knowing.

Beliefs act like a loose weather prediction that there is rain coming in three days, where knowns become the water in the tank.

One sustains hope the other orientates reality.

It's been a journey.

The process of breaking everything down to rebuild is revealing, deeply uncomfortable, and isolating.

From closing what I felt would be my life project and feeling the waves of emotion, the emptiness, and the completeness. It's been the toughest project to date.

I don't feel like humans are here to be built once and then live out their time... I know we're here to be broken down, creating space to rebuild time and time again.

I needed a challenge that would offer me the time and space to test myself and move my edges further out than I knew they could go, all without guaranteeing anything other than an endurance battle inside.

The Kosci 103k delivered.

5 months of training, one foot in front of the other, while my world view went through a metamorphosis, wasn't enough to assure anything. The thought of running it was big... but not big enough. I wanted to test what I was built of, physically and psychologically.

Out came the Ruck.

Adding an extra 18kg to the journey meant that it wouldn't be over quickly and there was always the option to undo the clips and leave that pack where it fell.

But, that was never going to happen... i don't like to suffer as some do, but i do enjoy a struggle. Life can become so heavy with illusions, imagined outcomes and doubts... that all i wanted is to feel the reality of my choice digging into my shoulders and back step after step.

18kgs of extra reality moved over 103k with 3k of elevation in a time of 26.5 hours.

This pic is part relief, part elation, and part surrender, that finish line felt like it was moving away from me as fast as i was moving towards it, and to finally cross it signified the end of that battle.

The part that surprised me the most was in the last 5 hours of being wet, cold, and semi on another planet - I was happy inside.

It didn't make much sense, but there was a serene calm and joyful spark in my mind's hamster running along on its wheel.

That experience was a bookend to a big chapter, one which I can finally say I've turned the page on.

There'll be more on this story, but for now, that's a wrap for the last 9 years...

The Built to Carry experiment.

Linking my lineage from the the days of carrying our families food and shelter to the edge of where we become the second most intelligent capacity on this planet.

107k with a 15kg pack should be a good start to a journey to carry the strength of old into a dawn of new.

A mothers capacity to carry and nurture her young, is something that we can all be eternally grateful for… for we are here, now, because of that capacity.
