I went quiet on socials for a while.

Not because nothing was happening.

Because everything was.

I cut the noise in all areas of life to build, learn, create, fail fast and build again.

I’ve been learning something that’s completely changed how I work, how I think, and how I run my life.

AI agents.

Not the hype. Not the ChatGPT party tricks.

The real stuff. Building systems that actually think with you.

And what I’ve realised is this isn’t just a tech thing.

It’s a skills thing.

I’m going to be sharing the process, the wins, the messy middle, the challenges, and most importantly the story.

A story where we decided to do life and business completely different this time round.

We’re just getting started.

Saturdays at Be Farm Fit are never the same.

With six coaches rotating through the programming, each week brings a different style, energy, and challenge.

Today @lukeosophy took the reins and delivered an incredible Team vs Team session.

The crew worked hard, but more importantly, they worked together.

Why I’m rucking 107km and building our company the same way!

I had this reflection when I was out running this morning.

At the moment I’m training for my first ultra.

There’s 6 of us in the crew, plus an epic support team and a coach (who is based remotely).

My friend and brother Luke and I decided we want to ‘ruck’ the event, meaning we will be carrying extra weight for the 107km trek!
(Why??? That’s a story for another day!).

So while I was out running this morning it occurred to me that the way we are training and showing up for this ultra is very similar to how we’re building MetroElectro.

It’s not about competition, it’s about collaboration.

It’s about demanding more, of myself and of each other.

It’s about creating something that doesn’t come to those who aren’t prepared to go first.
Those who aren’t prepared to do the hard things.
Those who aren’t prepared to fail forward and learn (and grow) from the hard lessons.

It’s about working together (with our partners and customers), sharing and leveraging our resources, energy, vision, wisdom and passion!

And it’s about carrying some extra weight, not because we have to, but because we choose to!

That’s what the ultra and this business have in common.

They both strip you bare.

There’s nowhere to hide.

You either show up, or you don’t.

I’m curious, what’s the extra weight you’re choosing to carry right now?

Thanks @goruck 🤙🏼

The last 6 months has been a wild ride

That’s six months of growth.

Of sweat, surrender and self-discovery.

I’ve gone deeper than I’ve ever gone. I’ve cried harder than I’ve ever cried and I’ve felt more than I’ve ever felt before.

MJB seminars. First marathon. Mens work. MetroElectro. New home. New love. New standard. And now the Kosci 100 is only weeks away!

Mind, body, heart and soul has been cracked wide open and I’m so ready for the next part of the journey!

LFG!🔥

HALLUNCINATION IS NOT A REASON TO WITHDRAW 😳

Last night, I had the privilege to be on a private call with adventurer, speaker and author Paul Watkins.

He has done multiple 600km+ races in the arctic 🥶 a true endurance adventurer in every sense of the word.

He spoke to our ultra running group, ahead of our Kosci 100 race coming up in late November.

He made many exceptional points, including:

- just take the smallest and easiest next towards your goal

- get out of the checkpoints, don't linger

- youll be suprised how deep your well of capacity really is

AND...

Hallucinating is not a reason to withdraw.

This was mind boggling for me!

I didn't realise until he mentioned it - but I would have pulled out if I started hallucinating.

I've never taken drugs, so I don't know what hallucination is like.

(Experienced plant medicine people go nuts in the comments, im open to your perspective!)

On reflection, I would have deemed myself to be "losing it" and out of control.

And my favourite take away from the session:

ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO BE THE SAME PERSON AT THE END AS YOU WERE AT THE START.

Love this.

Huge thank you to Luke Harvison who organised this session, and so great to share the moment with my The Farm Gym ultra running crew.

6 weeks to go!

That feeling when you wake up Sunday morning & run a half marathon with 13kg on your back & you just want to do it again!

Not that long ago running 21km was a stretch, actually up until maybe 4 months ago, I had never run that far before, now I do it weekly

This is not a post about ego, but rather, I’ve learnt it’s pretty fucking crazy what we can create when we direct our energy in a way that is in alignment with who we are, who we want to be & where we want to go!

The new baselines that we can set when we hold ourselves to a higher account & surround ourselves with people who don’t take shit is fucking incredible!

It’s not easy! Let me be clear on that!

If you saw my last post, it was about a stubborn 46yo, set in his ways & when he encountered some resistance he didn’t like, he got defensive and reactive and just wanted to take the path of least resistance ie ‘lets get the fuck out of here’

But after lots of deep reflection, difficult conversations, a 21km ruck, visiting Pilou, some time in nature, doing an equilibration & taking time to be more intentional, present & grounded, I’ve realised that everything is as it should be

Those challenges are there to make something of each & everyone of us and all we have to do is be courageous enough (despite the fear or uncomfortability) to say yes, fuck it, lets do it!

If you’re one of those people, LFG! 🚀

If you’re not quite there yet, that’s ok! But please keep being curious enough to stay open, explore & find the love & fun that you know you want, you know it’s possible, but you’re just resisting to something that is new and unfamiliar

And finally, if you’re one of those people who’s first response is hate, negativity or cynicism, that’s ok, just unfollow and go find your people!

My biggest thanks goes out to my partner, my friend, my mirror, my lover … a woman who is powerful beyond measure, who holds herself to the highest account always & expects nothing less from those around her, Courtney Anderson, you’re amazing, you inspire me everyday & thank you for calling me an asshole! (was that our first fight?😘).

I love working and playing outdoors.
I love physical work and especially helping people with any jobs on their ‘to do’ lists. A bonus is when I get to learn new skills and do jobs I’ve never done before!

I’m really enjoying being back in the gym regaining my strength after taking a break to sort out some issues.
Gym work is important to me in order to keep doing what I love so I rarely miss my training.

Having some beautiful winter days at the moment.

Perfect for outdoor training!
Forest hikes three times a week.
Gardening and farm jobs.
And finding things outdoors to lift, carry, pull and throw 😄

I like feeling strong in my body. And I like being capable myself of doing anything that pops up in my day rather than need to find someone to help.

Training for strength, and cardio fitness, is a priority for me every day along with quality nutrition and sleep.

Committing to movement and training each day is easy for me.
I have to work harder at keeping on track with food choices so I’m only putting food into me that’s helpful.
As for quality sleep! I’ve a long way to go 😅
