This country has it all- beautiful people, diverse culture, beaches, mountains, wildlife, incredible food.

I spent two weeks here with friends and I didn’t want to leave, there’s just so much to see!

$The hike you DON’T want to miss when planning your trip to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Pidurangala Rock has one of the best views of the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress and surrounding Sigiriya jungle. What to expect ⬇️ • The best time to climb is at either sunset or sunrise 🌅 • Cost- only 6 or 7 USD paid as a temple donation 💵 (a fraction of the cost of Sigiriya Rock) • The trail starts at a Buddhist Monastery and therefore a sarong or cover up is often needed at the beginning- these can also be borrowed at the ticket counter 🙏🏼 • Lots of steps and some sections with steep climbs ⛰️ • There is some light bouldering and squeezing between massive rock boulders near the summit 🪨 Well worth the climb! A birds eye view of Sigiriya Lion Rock, Sri Lanka - worthy of an 8th wonder? 🗺️

Sigiriya Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress reaching almost 200m high. You can climb to the top via multiple staircases and it’s a must see icon of Sri Lanka.

On top there are ruins of a palace which was built by King Kashyapa- this was his royal residence during 477-495 AD. 👑

The best time to climb the rock fortress is at sunrise and sunset. 🌅
