Snippet of home 🖼️ another of my favorite corners! I struggled with this space in our dining room for years. Opposite this space is our dining table and it’s very much a pass through to the kitchen and rest of the house. I originally thought a large piece of furniture wouldn’t work here so I tried piece after piece of small, open tables and they were never right. This antique piece popped up in an estate sale preview and I knew I had to have it. It’s the perfect size and functions as our bar. One day, I’d love to replace the marble top for something lighter, but it works for now! 🌺 taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @lula_eclectic

Hi and welcome! I’m Monica, owner and curator of Lula Eclectic. I turned my love of shopping, old things and interior decorating and turned it into this business - curating collections of antique and vintage finds for you to enjoy in your home. My style has always been very eclectic. I love so many different styles and appreciate so many different eras. My own personal style mixes clean interiors with the old and worn decor pieces I showcase on my page. Color and pattern have always been my love language (especially in my clothes) and I love incorporating color alongside neutral as well.

Now if you’re wondering where the name Lula comes from, Lula is our inspector general aka my 9 year old Boston Terrier, Tallulah. She inspects every item that comes through our doors by giving them the sniff test, but after that, the jobs all on me! She loves a good nap sesh while I do the hard work 😂

Outside of the shop, I live with my husband and newborn son in New Orleans and we love enjoying everything the city has to offer like great restaurants and fun festivals. If you ever need NOLA recs, I love giving them and talking everything New Orleans!

While I don’t run the shop full time (yet), in my spare time, I work part time as a bilingual speech language pathologist for the local school system. However, this shop is my dream career and has slowly allowed me the lessen my time as an SLP.

And for that, I have you to thank! Every single purchase, allows me to independently provide for my family in a way that brings me joy. And for that, I am forever grateful.

🌺Favorite places to source: estate sales and super Walmart sized antique malls.

Our back living room had been a catchall/storage space for so many years. We weren’t using it and it was just an eyesore for way too long. When I offered to host my sister-in-law’s baby shower, I knew I had to make this space usable, but I also wanted to make it look nice. I had 5 weeks to bring the space together and we were going to be out of town for 2 weekends so that meant second hand was going to have to be it. I had a vision, but you never know what you’ll find with second hand. I scoured FBMP for a sofa, but then I came across these Sherrill sofas at an estate sale. They’re PINK. Could I make these work? I recreated my vision board and voila, I think it came out pretty great for a 5 week turnaround 😊 tapestry chair, two tier side table and landscape art I already had from estate sales. Cloud art was purchased in PortlandOR. DJ art was bought by my husband at an X-Ecutioners concerts about 25 years ago. Corner table was Lula inventory I’d been trying to sell for too long and it fits perfect (so mine for now). Sofas came from an estate sale. Bamboo lamp and coffee table from FBMP. Cafe curtain from Anthropologie and pillows from Etsy. Most decor sourced from estate sales and antique malls. Tray bought in Granada, Spain. Rug is Loloi.
