Aquatic shades emerge as a KEY colour group - liquid, fluid, cooling, translucent colours inspired by swimming in natural saltwater pools.

'Miro Yellow' is inspired by the sunshine yellow painted front door of Joan Miro's art studio in Palma de Mallorca, photographed for Issue 35.

Caserra 71 is a lifestyle store located in the village of Deia on the island of Mallorca. Caserra is the Catalan word for Farmhouse or Mountain house.

Conceived by the designer Matthew Williamson, Caserra 71 is a "Vibrant space inspired by sun-drenched Mediterranean summers and the expressive spirit of 1970's design."

This Spanish townhouse is filled with gorgeous colours and Williamson's distinctive style. From vintage homeware and clothing, to collaborative pieces with brands such as @freepeople perfume from @vyraoworld art books and a selection of paintings for sale by local artists - including Matthew.

The colours on the walls were designed as a new collaborative paint range with @picklesonpaint with such good colour names from Palma Clay & Aphrodite Orange to Cala Blue & Moorish Lemon.

“The only true protest is Beauty”
Phil Ochs

Fondazione Dries Van Noten presents The Only True Protest Is Beauty, on view until 4 October 2026 in Venice.

Curated by @driesvannoten – inside the darkened rooms of Palazzo Pisani Moretta – this a gathering of beauty, craft and observations on imagination.

Inspired by activist Phil Ochs, the title frames beauty as a catalyst for intensity, provocation, and transformation.

@lacroixofficiel creations reveal their craftsmanship in layers: lace, embroidery, textured fabrics and intricate details building silhouettes meant to be seen up close.

Behind their presentation is another form of making and a celebration of human craft, the artisans behind the works and the exquisite details within each item on show – which you can get up close and personal with. Dramatic surfaces, decadent embellishment and intense, saturated colours are lit against a dark elaborate backdrop.

Craftsmanship here operates on two levels: in the garment itself, and in everything required to bring it into view. A botanical world that feels both familiar and impossible. The sculptures unfold with an uncanny sense of life, blurring the boundaries between the organic and the artificial.

Venice holds a centuries-old fascination with nature, and the cycles of life and death - where observation opens into imagination, representation becomes transformation, turning the familiar into something strangely other.
